actually, a recent study showed that people who get about 6-7 hours of sleep a night live longer than those who get 8+ or less than 4 hours a night. if it were up to me, i'd sleep 10 hours. :)

My sweet spot is 7 hours. If I get much more, I am just as grouchy as if I had only slept a couple. Two Friday's ago, I drove down to Houston at night and attended a conference, drove back afterwards and finally slept at 11pm on Saturday night. Man that sucked!

6-7 hours a night. Nowhere near enough...I'm always tired... it takes me 12 hours not to be.

Depends, can vary drastically from night to night. I could get 8-10hrs sleep every night if I wanted to, but of course that doesn't happen. Some nights I get 2-3hrs sleep, some nights 5-6hrs, and some nights 7-8.

I get about six hours of sleep a night as it stands now on school nights, not because I want to, but because my mother is an insane teacher who wakes me up at 6AM. It's spring break, though, so I'm one of those people you mentioned posting at 3 am! I'm getting about 10 hours a day this week. ;)

6 hours or so nightly, and no, I'm not nearly getting enough sleep. I start to fall asleep in 11th period practically everyday. But with the amount of work I'm forced to do through my schooling.. what choice do I have? None.

Sheesh...I can say this much. If I was in bed with a gal like that, I wouldn't be sleeping then either so I think the whole thing is moot!

during a school week I need at least 4 hours to function properly, but I can function with any number of hours, depending on if I get that many hours for a certain number of consecutive days. Like I can live off 6 hours a night, but I'd have to get 6 hours a night for about 3 days in a row. The sad thing is, if I do have a night where I can get like a good 10 hours in, it makes me more tired, because I have to have 2 more days sleeping that much, and we know in college that'll never happen...

I can sleep any amount of time I choose at any time I choose. In HS I was fine with 3 hours/night (and lots on weekends). Now in college I get 6+ hours/night and don't feel any more awake (and I still sleep most of the weekend). In the summer I sleep 10-12 hours/night and still get just as tired during the day. I can also change my sleep schedule any time (and any amount) I want with no adverse effect.
