I know a couple ex NBA players, noone who every was a huge star, one guy was a starting point guard in the NBA for 2 seasons. This was back in the 70's. My dad knows a bunch of ex pro atheletes from his business as a fishing guide.

My cousin used to work for Disney, and knows several of the ABC tv personalities, and some of the ESPN people. He also knows Chris Webber.

a neighborhood friend i used to play with is now a Major League starting pitcher.

my sister used to do runway modeling when she was 18 to 20. i briefly dated a girl who did modeling for a major department store catalog (mainly for lingerie and underwear) and other stores based in the SF area. and an ex gf who is an import car magazine model. i guess they're not famous, but after reading this thread, i figured it was worth mentioning...

<< Let's see. Way back in 1983-1985, there was this girl who turned high-school football upside down by going to court and winning. She got to play on the high-school team that I was on. They made a little movie (based on very little fact) about her called "Quarterback Princess". Tammy Maida was her name. She was famous until the movie was released. Then everybody hated her for it. >>

I'm deeply ashamed to admit I watched that movie - starred Helen Hunt, btw.

I don't know anyone nationally famous, just several local personalities from the newspaper and local television stations.

CGirl

I saw that movie too... 😱😀

Well, I have been aquainted with a lot of famous people, but only because of my sister's husband (who is a sports therapist with famous clientele) and my father-in-law, who is an executive in the orchestra business and has worked with and entertained many classical and pops stars.

I'd like to be a famous novelist one day myself, kind of along the lines of Amy Tan, Isabelle Allende, Toni Morrison, and Alice Walker...

ok here ya go...

I see George W a few times a month... and we've talked once or twice.. more than just a handshake kinda thing... (I'm not kidding I really do)

I grew up with the son of Michael Stein who was St Peter in the original cast of Jesus Christ Superstar

I convinced Lamont Jordan to play football... and used to play football in the parking lot with him all the time... and played with him, when he played HS football... see him every few years when he revisits our old highschool... in case you dont know.. Lamont was drafted 2nd round to the NY Jets as a running back... and has the all-time record for rushing at University of Maryland

According to my ex, his parents are good friends of the Farrelly brothers and have been to a couple of their premiers.

Umm...my dad's ex-boss' ex-girlfriend's nephew is Sam from Clarissa Explains it All.

Oh, and I was in a middle school gifted class with Holly Hunter's nephew.

Amanda Stott and Adam Gregory I know personally. I've met lots of the people behind the tech sites and companies, that's always fun

this is nothing Im proud of... but my sister-in-law used to get date offers constantly from a member of backstreet boys... she turned him down..

hmmm, i used to go to high school with the son of a guy in the band the tractors. i've never heard of them but supposedly they were nominated for a grammy. he's totally rich too! (i used to live in oklahoma, hence band names like the tractors 😛)

i also used to go to high school with this girl who's a model. she won one of those magazine (i think 17) competition and has been doing big time stuff since.

i was also friends with this girl who went to harvard and ended up having tatiana ali as her roommate! (what luck!) she met will smith and all those big people thru her.

i am friends with daniel from ozma (a local band that's pretty big in the LA and indie/pop rock scene)

so nothing truly exciting, sorry. i was once on television being interviewed by a reporter tho! 🙂

Gerald Hege (Sheriff)

Keith Sweat (don't know if you guys still consider him famous).

I've also met Jani Lane, Angus, Joe Diffie.

My friend Kate McGrath is cousins with Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray, she gets free tickets and back stage passes to see them when they come in the area. They aren't very close, but they are cousins.

I know a friend who's friends with the members of Jebediah.

I used to be really good frriends with Mark Matkevich (Drue Valentine on Dawson's Creek, and Ratkevich on the short lived "Deadline".) And if you have ever heard the band Clockwork (all you dream theater fans, look them up) I am good friends with the whole band. Also I am good friends with the CEO of Cigna, Inc.

Not too much, but enough...

The guy I work with was/is like best friends with Kevin Eubanks...

My Aunt, who lives near Liverpool, has been very good friends with Anne Robinson for a long time.
