Assuming of course that all the "reports" are true and Katie Couric's deal reaches 100 million dollars here is what she will make. The things I have read figure it is a 5 year deal, so......

$20,000,000 a year in salary

$1,666,666 a month

$384,615 a week

Assuming a 40 hour work week........$9, 615 an hour.........$160 a minute.......$2.66 a second

wow...my parents would have to work 7.5 years to make what she makes in a week. Yeah...my family's poor though. How the hell does she manage to get a 20,000,000/year salary? That's unheard of. I wonder how much Al Roker makes...he's the man.

I don't think her eyes have anything to do with it, it's her personality. Debbie Noville was 10 times the babe that Katie was before she got replaced by Katie. However Norville came off like a stuck up biotch and the viewers hated her.

Ever wonder why engineers and teachers get paid much less than entertainers. Engineers design and build the world and teachers shape the youth of the world into productive citizens.

Entertainers amuse us, so we pay them the most.

News anchors making as much as big time actors/actresses. And know what? While movie studios get a return on their investments in big name actors.

These dumbasses running Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS, and various radio stations are idiots. They DO NOT get a return on their investment. I can tell you now if NBC goes through with the Couric deal, they WILL lose money on it...

I mean hell, the cast of Friends get $750,000 each per episode. 750,000 x 12, and the show gets an 18-24 share... The Today show gets 2-6. LOL not to mention ad revenues etc are umm down. I wanna know how the heck they can actually afford to pay her what they are going to. I guess they are hoping the economy goes back up..

It's all about the dollar, like anything else. Sure, it seems like a lot, but it's just a small percentage of what NBC pulls in because of her. She will get it because she's worth every penny, and then some.

Your thinking is flawed. She does not work a 40 hour week. I'd be surprised if she worked an 80 hour week. Probably more like a 100 hour week.

I think she probably isn't that happy anyway as her sister just died of cancer in October.

Will NBC lose money on this deal? Perhaps but what if she left and went somewhere else? Then how much do they lose. Many people have an emotion attraction to Ms. Couric as she shares her pain and happiness very well with her audience. The today Show makes NBC alot of money and they are giving her some of it.

Me thinks this is a good thing. When the company profits they pay the employees that contribute to the profit AND would be difficult to replace. Fact is NBC has no one that could step in and replace Katie.

BTW I think Edi on Fox and Freinds is WAAAAAAYYYYY Hotter!
