Are you dirt poor yet?

And by "dirt poor" I mean you're so destitute that you've been forced to eat dirt for sustenance.

I'm not quite there yet, but on most nights I've been having just a bowl of soup for dinner (although yesterday I splurged and had some pasta noodles).

my bank account is empty but I'm on relocation benefits now so my new company is paying for my hotel stay and meals.

I don't think anyone in the us is "dirt" poor as you describe. We have quite the surplus of food, and those situations only occur during a famine AND economic recession/depression. However, that doesn't mean that people aren't eating some pretty bad stuff.....

Maybe the term should be "ramen-poor"?

Who the hell gonna eat dirt for sustenance in the USA???

This is probably the fattest country on the planet with an abundance of food every fucking where and you think people eating dirt here??

WTF!

are you posting from home? if so, you could easily drop the internet connection and buy groceries each month. i'm getting by, but thankfully got a family that may be able to help if i hit rock bottom.

I can't afford to take a trip to mammoth to go snowboarding so as far as I'm concerned I might as well be out turning tricks for crack money. :|

Its been so bad I have been using both sides to the toilet tissue to try and save some money. You would be surprised how much you spend on shytpaper each month.......

I seem to be spending a lot more money on antibacterial soap to wash my hands lately so I think the cost savings is marginal at best......
