Can you look yourself in a mirror tonight, this instant, and say to yourself, "I am content with who I am, what I have become? What I will become?" Despite all the mistakes, wrong-doings, pain and suffering we all endure, are you happy to be where you are?

Elaborate on your answer, if so you wish. Why are you content? If not, why not?

I'm content with who I am personally for the most part. I know I've got little personality quirks that need working on (like most of us do) so I'm always working on those things though. Content with where I'm at in life as far as career, posessions, etc is another story. Never really have been. Probably never will be.

yes. i am young and healthy. i go to a well-known university, study something i like, and make good enough grades. i have a girlfriend that i think is beautiful - she loves me for who i am and is not afraid to tell me so. my parents are still married to one another and they also love me. i get along with my only sibling. my family is not rich but we don't go without. i have a good group of friends whom i trust and feel loyal to. the climate where i live is maybe a little too hot, but i am used to it. my life is not all roses, but they key to being satisfied is to look on the bright side of things.

I'm learning a language, looking for a job, learning to sew, living with decent roommates, have two friends nearby in a new place that I'm exploring (you being one of the friends, Nate), and have 300 pages to go in a book I'm enjoying. Pretty content indeed.

I have learned the secret to being content in all circumstances, though...

I am content, but I know things need to change for me to be able to take care of myself. Nothing really earth shattering, I just need to get a job and stuff. I guess what I am talking about is being happy with who I am. It has taken me some time and work to be happy with myself, but I am ok at the moment. I think about all the bad things in the world and think that I am by far more lucky than a lot of people.

To be honest I really don't understand someone who isn't happy because they are not a ceo or somewhere high up in society. I think if you were truly happy with yourself you would have a different outlook on life. I would like to better off financially, but I don't know if I would change myself to in an extreme sense. I like seeing people as equals, but most people like to be better than everyone else, or think that they are.
