I am something I like to call the athesitic agnostic;)

I don't believe that there is a god, but concede that it is possible that there is one.

<---- Agnostic which according to the dictionary =
One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.

datalink7---you are what is called a 'weak atheist'. A weak atheist is someone who lacks a belief in a god, a 'strong atheist' is someone who actively believes that there is not a god. Being a weak atheist means that you don't rule out a god, you just don't actively believe that there is one.

There are two kinds of people in the world: agnostics and idiots.

The reason I say that is because, if you think about it, people who are willing to believe they are in the hands of a divine being of whose existance there is no evidence are just stupid. On the other hand, those who say God doesn't exist with no evidence to back it up are pretty thick too.

If that made any sense, cool. Otherwise, screw it.

EDIT: Fine. "Weak" atheists are not stupid.

ahh dammit you are not listening!!!!! weak atheists don't proclaim with any certainty that there is not a god. So add that to your list of non-idiots. I am a weak atheist/agnostic, i guess.

That has to be the most idiotic summation I have ever read.

No.

Red - I agree that the comment "There are two kinds of people in the world: agnostics and idiots" is unfair and wrong, but I also noticed that we Christians are constantly referred to as idiots, sheep, #$@$$#@$ers, morons, etc.

Can we agree that blanket statements like that one about either side are unfair and wrong?
