Yes, although I don't know who would want my organs, but they are more than welcome to them when I'm dead.

No. I'm fairly sure no one wants my alcohol infested liver or kidneys and my heart diseased heart.

No, I'm donating my body to a university medical center. They won't take it if the organs are gone.

If I knew my organs would not be going in a lab or giving a felon a second chance at life then I would...

No. At least not officially. Your family can donate your organs, even if you're not on an official list.

I don't want to be on some list so if some senator needs an organ, they come run me down so they can have mine. Several years ago a senator got moved to the top of the list when he needed some transplant, and I made the decision then to not be a registered donor. My parents know they can donate my organs and when I get married, my wife will know too.

I don't like the idea of it (even if I am dead). The whole concept of a piece of my body--who I am with my DNA--that living on in someone else bothers me.

I would like to think that someone I know or love (not myslef) could receive an organ if it was important to their survival but I don't think I'd like to be a donor myself (I want to be shot into a black hole when I die thanks :p)

Yep, they can grab what they can when I'm dead. Then I'm thinking about doing the creamation and then they whole compressing the carbon into a diamond that someone can wear. Creepy, maybe to some but it sounds pretty cool to me.

You know I never thought about it in that detail, the DNA aspect. That would be kind of freaky like if they harvest your heart. Your organ/blood/DNA in someone else's body.

No. I don't know if I can explain it, but it just feels wrong for me. for all of you that are.

I am, although I have trouble escaping the suspicion that if push comes to shove, I may be allowed to die because I'm worth more in pieces than I am whole....

Yeah. Just the thought of "you" still existing in someone else is messed up IMO. I explained it to a friend and he thought it was great... "immortality" he said. Not quite ;)

If you look at it from a practical standpoint you are just the brain. The body just supports the brain and its continuous requirements. But I still can't get over the idea that my body--part of who I am in the physical sense is now part of them. It weirds me out (not squirmishly).

I could see if you were religious and were a donor--you don't believe in the meatspace to begin with.
