A friend of mine from when I lived in WV is deathly afraid of zombie. It's so bad for him, he won't even look at screen shots or watch gameplay of Resident Evil games, even the PS1 originals! He says he constantly has nightmares like you, where zombies are chewing on his arms.

I think the modern reinterpretation of traditional zombies these days have them evolve over the duration of the movie, so the one near the end are crazy hulking monsters that move fast too.

Fast zombies are NO GOOD. There should never be fast zombies. They're scary. zombies in nearly complete darkness like Doom III are scary too.
