Are you a vegetarian?

I eat about 50% of my meals "pescetarian." Either entirely vegetarian or with fish. The other half is usually chicken or turkey. Occaisionally I eat beef, pork, other meats but mostly the turkey/chicken equivalent (ground turkey, turkey sausage, turkey bacon, etc).

my sis is a veggie
she wont even eat anything with Gelatin in it
and she wont eat at any place that she read tested food on animals or something like that

Human beings are omnivores; we have a mixture of teeth that are designed for both chewing plant matter along with biting into and tearing apart meat. As omnivores, we are meant to survive on a balanced diet that includes both plants and animals.

Being a vegetarian is a personal choice that people make for whatever (often admirable) reasons, but it. goes. against. nature.

If we lived like nature intended we'd all be sitting in trees tossing poo at each other. 😀

pescatarian, but i live off of fish i catch myself during the warm weather. i'd eat meat if i could raise and kill it myself. sorry y'all, but packaged meat is not the same as farm-raised.

I don't eat meat (at least not very often), but it's entirely because I don't like the flavor (esp. red meat). nothing to do with animal rights or anything; I don't care much about the life of anything non-human/non-endangered.

mostly I just eat rice, pasta, and side-dishes.

*takes aim...*

Err, I mean, I'm not a vegetarian. I like meat a lot. I find animals extremely tasty, and I personally don't think there's anything wrong or unhealthy about eating them.

I am currently chowing down on several parts of cow in this burrito.

You and your friends, perhaps.. 😉

But some of us possess a bit more maturity than that.

The animals are already dead. It's not like going veggie is gonna bring them back to life. I think of all those starving Ethiopians, and I think I'm doing them a favor by not wasting food.

No. I eat meat daily, so I guess I won't be a vegetarian. I generally try to avoid consuming too much fat or junk food.
By the way, humans are supposed to be omnivores.

everyone in this thread that's saying that humans are supposed to be omnivores is right. the point is, we're not supposed to eat meat that is raised in the conditions of american (or for that matter western. dont jump down my throat on this one) livestock.

My fiancee is the same way...won't eat gelatin, anything with stock, etc.

I'm cutting down on meat big time because it doesn't do much for me (aside for taste)...it costs more, I have trouble digesting it and I honestly don't want to support the meat industry.

But I could never be as hardcore as she is.

I was for five years, but not because of any great moral conviction, more of a, "see if I can do it" kind of thing.

My grandfather was a farmer, he had some steer and hogs. I think working with animals, raising them for slaughter has permanently skewed my perspective/
