Are you a Twit?

I don't use twitter, I have no plans on using twitter, I don't see why anyone twitters.

Oh, and, I'm sick of the media twittering. Unlike a blog or facebook/other social network I see no longevity or purpose to message squirts. I believe it's a fad and it's gonna go away, hopefully sooner than later.

The only thing it's good for is dirty puns. Observe Colbert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4EoN4nr5FQ

It will go away quicker if people stop talking about it.
And posting about it.

Unfortunately, I am helping Twitter by posting in this thread 🙁 I fail.

But you're too dense to know for sure, right? 😛

Yep, but hopefully one of these days someone else will figure it out and let me know.

People who use Twitter probably have NEVEr heard of RSS feeds. Personal twittering is not as bad but when CNN needs to twitter because you dumbasses don't know what an RSS feed is, then you're just sad. But thank goodness ATOT knows of RSS feeds and so we aren't all twitter idiots. I barely twitter but it'sf unny how I never added anyone and random friends keep finding me! It's disturbing. I don't even know how to stalk like Stalkerbook (Facebook), but I guess some people really spend their time browsing Twitter.

Edit: I just find it interesting because my main group of friends is mostly Asian and we come from those universities where most people LIVE on facebook. We use it to keep in touch, update statuses, store photos, etc. Given that Facebook has status updates that people use so frequently on top of AIM status updates, I don't see why people NEED to twitter for personal crap. Then on top of the fact that news networks and other sites have RSS feeds, the need for Twitter is virtually NONEXISTENT. Oh and come on, you can update your facebook status with your cell phone too with the Facebook iPhone app.

With all this, a good number of friends still use twitter. It's just that their Facebook statuses are updated more often. I suppose people just like to join in on these fads.

I have Twitter's RSS feed. So I can keep updated with the news networks tweets.

twidiots?

I use Twitter but I don't 'tweet'. I use it to keep up with what is going on in the games industry by following various developers, publishers, industry figures, etc.

At this point, I'm more sick about the talk/hype/hate of Twitter than I am of Twitter itself.

Your last sentence was too long for me to successfully sound out. Cliffs?

I use it. Most people use it for attention and just tweet useless crap, but it's a really powerful networking and information tool if you know what you're doing.

Twitter is something old people in the media have latched on to in order to seem hip or in touch with the kids these days. The problem being that's it's not hip and kids don't use it. They text or use the normal "social networking" sites.

My Next Twitter Message:

I just took a shit. It felt good. I think I lost 2 pounds. Life is good. More later.......

I have one for the sake of maintaining a presence professionally - as a software developer I'm expected to have this sort of thing. I like blogging because I like to write, but micro-blogging is a little strange.

This is exactly what I use it for as well.

I could just use RSS feeds, but this is easier and there's a lot of stuff that comes through on twitter that is not part of an RSS feed (although most of it is superfluous).
