Are you a poor speller?

I'm far from perfect, but i'd swear this board was run by 12 year olds with the way some of you spell.

No. I'm OCD and Anal Retentive about spelling and grammar.

I will usually look up a word in a different window if I'm not sure about the spelling.

as will i if it looks funny. I just noticed a typo in a post in another thread of mine, but i'm too lazy to change it.

I pride myself in spelling things correctly. I find it extremely annoying when people spell even the most simple words incorrectly. It grows very tiresome to continually see certain words misspelled all the time.

Not all of us have English as a first language. Heck, English is actually the third language for me. But yes, I agree. It annoys me sometime when people misspell "there" with "their".

No, i'm not usually a bad speller, but I don't usually worry about punctuation and grammar when I post.

Why not? Good communication is everything.

Are you annoyed when you see a person in a wheel chair taking up the sidewalk moving slowly? Well spelling is a disablity for some including me. I've read hundreds of books and still sometimes read the wrong words on the page even seeing the word a hundred times before.

Not the least. If i'm at work, i'd offer to give them a hand.

Too lazy to worry about it usually! 😛

I tend to not capitalize my "I" because i'm used to MSWord doing it for me 😱

Not a poor speller, but a *horrible* typist. I also note that when I type casually and fast (e.g., here) I tend to insert homonyms, which I do not do in more formal writing (even when frantic). I cannot for the life of me properly type "student" or "believe" (well I did this time, but only because I tried really hard).

OMFG poor spelling is now a disability?? WTF? Be clear about this: your poor spelling and reading skills give you absolutely nothing in common with a person in a wheelchair. :disgust: :|

Yes, I will kick his wheel chair over and rudely bark at him to learn how to walk. Come on man, it's not the same thing. You can easily overcome your so called disability just by not being so lazy and look up words you don't know how to spell.
