Yes it can cause your head to explode, sorta. When you sneeze, you always close your eyes, otherwise your eyeballs would pop out! (It might be cool for the first few minutes)

Holding you sneezes in is very dangerous because it can rupture blood vessels all throuhout your sinuses, and most of all, it can cause blood vessels to pop in your eye, and in you brain area and cause undo pressure in your ear canal...not good. (BTW, my bio teacher told me this). I never hold my sneezes in.

I sneeze through my mouth. Oh, something to try. Try to burp and sneeze at the same time, or hiccup and sneeze at the same time; it feels weird (at least for me it did).

my ex-girlfriend had the same issue.. i always told her that she should just sneeze or her brains would leak our her ears... i think the reason i got mad was cause i think she thought she had to be all dainty and sh!t around me, and that annoyed me...

anyhow.. i'm a mouth sneezer.. you can hear me sneeze probably a block away... while i'm indoors.. with all the windows shut... and in a insulated closet..

i have a bad habit of holding my breath while sneezing.....lots of pressure, but it's really really quiet, and i don' thave to wash my hands afterwards(very good for at church or at work)
