My mother was invited when she was in university. I thought it was pretty cool.

I'm pretty tired and I got 22/30. There were a few silly mistakes and they give you feedback right after the test.

I have taken Mensa practice tests in the past and done well enough to get the "you may have a good chance of passing the real thing"-type messages. A friend of mine who is a member invited me to go to a Mensa social mixer in DC a few years back. After two hours of socializing with these people, I must admit that I am inclined to agree with HappyPuppy's disparaging remarks about the organization.

Never being one to back away from a debate, I engaged in several and listened to many more "discourses" during the evening and it was painfully obvious to me that the underlying theme was "intellectual for the sake of being intellectual." It was really quite tedious, although I am sure that many of the people there were quite nice.
