I know Jack Shytt.
I'm pretty handy around a computer, too. All self-taught (or is that self-learned?).

No, I can build a computer and troubleshoot most problems. I have a network at home I setup myself.

I am not an IT professional though.

Primarily self-learned, in the IT business right now, but I'm a programmer, so by no means an expert in many fields.

I can build and take guesses as to whats wrong with one. I don't know anything technical except the basics about hardware. I reformat machines for my friends when they get uber-pRon on them.

i don't get the poll. sometimes if you say "you don't know jack about PCs" it means you don't know anything. but your poll says, do you know jack about PCs? So in that instance does jack=something?

Computer science doesn't=computer techie. I heard that a lot of computer science people don't really know anything about computers and mostly use software on the computer? All I know is that they're not trained at "fixing or workin the computer".

And "the Ninja" to answer your question, yes.
