9. Two men, starting at the same point, walk in opposite directions for 4 meters, turn left and walk another 3 meters. What is the distance between them?

Here's why I don't do good on these tests. How many degrees to the left did they turn? It doesn't say, therefore there is not enough information to solve the question.

assume a 90 deg turn. I used to have the forumla to figure that out memorized, but I don't use crap like that in RL so I forget.

Meh. No need for a formula on a 3/4/5 triangle.

Why should I assume a 90degree turn? It doesn't specify, therefore I can't answer it.

16 so far, sooo close.

Edit: 17 🙂

Edit 2: 18, almost there. Btw, some of the answers are related to each another.

Because you're reading too far into the question. Sometimes the simplest and correct answers can be found by taking a step back and looking at the problem.

Well I ended up getting 20/30 on the mensa quiz because I got tired and didn't do 5 questions and hit submit 😛

It said I have a good chance of passing the actual mensa test. Kinda cool.

Now don't try to get away! I am more muscular, more cunning, faster, and larger than you are... and I'm a genius.

Let's say I want to hire you. If you don't know how to make reasonable assumptions, there's no reason I shouldn't just replace your position with a computer. They're faster and better at calculations based on complete information.

Apparently I'm intelligent even when drunk...

I'm just overanalysing and making a point 😛
