Lately I have been noticing a very high increase of cars either sporting the silver fish logo or the same thing with Darwin inside it. What is that all about?

Belief in Darwin's theories do not preclude a belief in a higher power. Merry Christmas Mr. SmallMind

Merry Christmas to you too :D... but from my experience... and some of my friends do have those... they think God is a joke. Forgive me if I tend to generalize... my mistake. :)

Not to hi-jack the thread, but ffmcobalt ->
I know an awful lot of christians who believe in 'Theistic Evolution'
Basically: Evolution happened pretty much how darwin described but god was the 'guiding hand' controlling the process.

They basically seem like people whose faith wasnt shaken by the idea of evolution, but they couldnt refute facts either, but hey this is just the majority of christians i know, your local variety may differ.

Saying "most" is pretty stupid. :) Theistic Evolution is where God set in motion the development of the Universe, stood back, and watched it develop on it's own. I know this.

But assuming (or even believing) that "most" Christians believe that is simply arrogant and ignorant.

Everyone I know would say that god guided evolution (much in the way that we guide things playing 'god' games on the PC.) Sitting back and watching it develop would just be plain ol' evolution, IMHO.

I agree that saying 'most christians believe it' is a little innacurate though...

most intelligent christians don't have a problem with micro-evolution.
it's macro-evolution that we don't accept.

And a darwin fish basically means "anti-christian" since it's taking a really old christian symbol and mocking it.

That's what I was thinking... but apparently... doing so classifies me as narrow-minded. :D

Scoff at that which you don't understand at your own peril.

Every human is given the ability to choose what they believe in. I chose a long time ago to go with a winner.

Besides, Nik doesn't fall into that group anyway. He's covered under the right-wing fundie, "if-it-ain't-written-in-the-Bible-it-ain't-true" group... :p

I like the alien fish myself...
