Yet you have more and more people demanding wealth that they have not earned. And more suckers willing to steal that wealth to hand it over.
Between the poor beggars and the do-gooder Robin Hoods; it seems as the numbers are heavily skewed.

As if those at the top have "earned" in proportion to "effort" or their contribution to society. As if the 20X explosion of CEO pay over workers in the last 30 years means they're 20X smarter and work 20X harder than their predecessors.

Wall St "earned" incredible amounts of money even as they overheated and crashed the economy. They did it by transferring enormous sums out of pensions, mutual funds, endowments & so forth into their own bank accounts. Not directly, of course- they used th e shell game of the Ownership Society. They used the same shell game to puff up the price of real estate to unsustainable levels, too, leaving millions of home owners underwater, paying more than their house is worth, millions who couldn't pay at all.

Unemployment? Record profits!

Illiquid economy? Record corporate cash reserves!

Explosive inequality? Give the guys at the top another tax cut!
