If so, the good thing is we can afford it.

We have proven our ability to print at a rate of $12 trillion a year, so if a Korean war only costs as much as Iraq we'd be getting away at a cost of relative pennies. North Korea better watch out, our printing presses can handle the task!

Of course, the true decision is with the President. Like his predecessor before him, President Obama will not take action to stop nuclear proliferation. He'll merely wag his finger and write strongly worded letters. North Korea will be free to give nuclear missiles to whoever they please.

North Korea would have to start a war for there to be a war. It?s not beyond them to do that, but I?m not going to bet the farm on it as they had have plenty of opportunities to do this before.

LOL - I didnt say everything they post is a winner. But most of the posts, even though trolling have reasons, thought, opinion and comments that are on topic. FNE doesn't do that, ever.

Even contrasting him to you... You generally post links, ideas, reasons, etc. that are on topic. I don't usually agree with you, but at least you have intelligent thoughts and valid reasons behind your opinions. FNE just posts attacks on the left or Obama that are usually off topic, and have no credibility whatsoever.

You= conservative
FNE= tin foil hat wearing nutjob who thinks Obama is actually the Antichrist.

I am sure you can see the difference.
Techs = Proud history of conservatives

Phokus = More proof that the right is in trouble: complete idoctrination and idol worship when it comes to Rush Limbaugh

All three of them work on the same level. The only difference is that one is on the right and the other two are on the left.

You made a typo. Should say "one is on the right and the other two are on the wrong."

Uh... no. Like I said - They generally post facts and links, or opinions and reasons behind thier opinions, where FNE doesn't. The 2 posts you linked have several lines of words in them. FNE will post a sentence or two at most, blaming Obama for something he has nothing to do with, or just outright insulting him totally off topic as in this very thread.

surely you can see the difference?

...... [thinks]..... Yes! LOL

That is exactly it. Clearly all of the above are biased and post to spread thier own opinions. But Phokus and Techs make the effort to at least explain their views and opinions.

Probably because he's smart. He realizes that good diplomacy involves both a carrot and a stick, unlike his predecessor. You don't realize how lucky you are that there's finally an adult in the White House. The sad part is that all you'll do to thank him is post more stupid comments attacking him on the internet.

Haha that's fucking rich. You claim you were a military man, but you think Obama knows dick about what it takes to make a decision to send people into harms way. Old GWB might have been a pilot in the reserves or whatever, but at least he has some idea of how it all worked.
We have a guy in office that knows absoultely dick about diplomacy or negotiation. The only thing he knows is how to campaign.

What does being in the military have to do with diplomacy or negotiation? What could you possibly be basing that on?

Lincoln was never in the military but he did just fine, FDR was never in the military but he won WW2. GWB WAS in the military and he gave us Iraq. Seems like we could use fewer military men in the oval office. The idea that you're supposed to use diplomacy but be prepared to back it up with force is hardly a new idea originating with Obama, it's the hallmark of effective diplomacy for thousands of years. We had abandoned this time tested strategy in recent years and now we're getting back to it. I applaud this. All you're doing right now is foaming and frothing at Obama because you're blinded with partisan rage.

As for myself, I most certainly do claim to have been a military man. Ask me any question you want about life in the military (well, the navy). If you do and I answer you, I'll expect an apology.

I've been living in Seoul since January so obviously I'm a little less gung-ho about going to war than some here. But to the poster who said U.S. soldiers are not within range of NK's weapons, that is simply not true. The U.S. military has thousands of personnel in Seoul and many more in its satellite cities.

And the US has absolutlely nothing to gain from invading NK (even if we didn't already have Iran, Iraq and Pakistan on our plate).

The possibility of invading NK exists only in the fevered brain of NK's leader. If you think differently, perhaps you could explain why.

there is no reason that china would enter the war, they would get manhandled.

being a semi-awol flight pilot (or even a regular flight pilot, or even a general) is by no means a qualification to be a diplomat.

I'm not so sure about that. People in this country are outraged at such minor things as waterboarding and tasing. How can they possibly be made to understand what is necessary to win a war against North Korea? They are all fools, who know nothing of the ways of war. Everyone knows this.

The "people in the country" you refer to are just civilians who have nothing better on their mind than stuffing their guts and wallets while suing the crap out of each other and swallowing the idiot tube propaganda hook, line and sinker. I'm pretty sure our military personnel, however, posses the proper training and equipment to get the job done if it ever comes to fighting another war.

Certainly the military has the will to win. It's the fools you spoke of that will drive our military to failure. Politicians must pander to the fools pleas, and by doing so they will cripple the military. This has happened before, and it is happening now. Everyone knows this.

Well if you actually have been part of the military then you have learned nothing. It's even more embarrassing that you're so childish and ignorant if you actually have experienced military life.

Trust me, you're way better off pleading ignorance than trying to say that you hold such stupid opinions after being around the block a few times.

Everyone knows this. It cannot be denied.

I have learned a great deal, my friend. It seems that you were sheltered during your tours, while I was out in the field experiencing all that the world is. When I speak, I speak with the authority of a man who has experienced life, and embraced the truth. I suggest you leave the confines of your room and do the same. You may, one day, come to realize the same truths that I have.

I've been to every continent on the planet except for Antarctica, and I've been through a war. I've seen plenty. You just don't seem to understand how the world works, and that's why your posts are so childishly ignorant. I don't blame you for not understanding the world, and I don't blame you for having these opinions, but I do think that you should educate yourself. Someday I hope you will take the time to learn how the world actually operates. I don't actually believe that you've been in the military, but if you have I imagine you are still in it, and have only been in for a few years. If that's the case, you'll learn soon enough what I'm talking about.

Everyone knows this. It cannot be denied.
