Dell France has the 9600XT on their 8600 series of notebooks. You can only purchase it with the Recommended Systems, so you can't get the exact configuration that you want.

Indeed, 3499 for the T41P and 3779 for the R50p. But we are talking about the dvd burner in the R50p, 128mb Vid card, trimode wireless, gigabit lan, workstation tech support, three year warranty, UltaNav, great battery life, and slim/light weight. This does not wholly justify the price, but this machine has no PC counterpart considering all the options; the closest competitor is the Apple G4 17"

Since both the models just came out, the price should reduce some towards the holidays and new year.

Yea I figure at this point it will be worth the wait to just buy in mid to late January, when they are starting to worry about first quarter earnings and think more about slashing prices.I figure from here to Dec 25th most hardware isnt going to get any cheaper. @ least as far as systems are concerned.

No, Intel plans to start shipping Dothan CPUs to manufacturers before the end of 2003. Dothan laptops are expected to appear in the first quarter of 2004. Digitimes has an article about this here but, since it has been archived, you must now be a paying member to read it.

Yes, and if the price was a little lower that would be already shipped to me... ;) Athlon 64-M + mobility radeon 9600 should make a killer combo...

2 MB L2 Cache.
And thats the most important feature, in my opinion.
It's double the current Pentium M's cache! Quadruple the Pentium-4-M's cache.
