PSA: Don't update your Gigabyte B650 mobo to latest BIOS otherwise you may lose PCIe 5.0 x16 support and have it downgraded to PCIe 4.0 x16.
Why? This is literally a skip generation due to the horrible drivers.i am stilll waiting for a 1999 founders edition 5090.
i am stilll waiting for a 1999 founders edition 5090.
I am thinking i should give up at this point, and settle with a 2499 zotac
Would've been almost interesting with 16GB VRAM.Saw there's a 5070 at Amazon for $548 (!)
6090 ends up looking a lot better and you end up feeling screwed out of your money.
I'm almost expecting nVidia to release the 5090DD worldwide.

As per the insider, this has happened because of a sharp drop in the terminal sales, leading to declines in the retail and even wholesale prices. Some have already begun preemptively adjusting the cost of the RTX50 series by the end of the month, aiming to help distributors achieve their IN targets in the final days of July.

According to Boardchannels, via Chiphell, the RTX 50 series GPUs have been stocked way above the ideal levels. This happened mainly because of low sales and continuous supply.

Urgent notice: Graphics card manufacturers may soon begin adjusting prices. Some manufacturers have already begun adjusting the cost of the RTX50 series before the end of the month, aiming to help distributors achieve their IN targets in the final days of July.
This is primarily due to a recent sharp drop in terminal sales, which has led to continued declines in wholesale and retail prices, significantly increasing inventory pressure and creating a situation of oversupply. Industry experts generally expect graphics card manufacturers to continue lowering their cost prices in August to maintain market liquidity and stabilize sales.
Distributors nationwide are advised to evaluate their inventory and pricing strategies and prepare for a coordinated response.

lets be real here...
i bought my 3090 for 1899... it was the EVGA FTW3 version. hence the markup, but FE was 1499.
I then got my 4090 FE 1599. Thats only 100 dollars more then what the 3090 costed.
The 5090 is 1999. And the higher AIB models over over 3000 dollars, and they were still out of stock because scalpers be buying the card instead of paying rent, trying to make 2000 dollars off each.
The 5090 pricing is a JOKE. Jensen said oh the 5090 is for people with 10,000 dollar gaming PC.
TELL ME PLEASE... which Gaming PC has a price tag of $10k without a bloated over priced 5090 costing more then HALF of that from AIBs?
4 Elephants in the room.... and they are all stupid dumb because Nvidia AI generated them.
Im just scared the 6090FE will cost 2499, with ASUS ASTRAL version costing upwards of 4k, with scalpers trying to vend it off for 10k each.
Nvidia's strategy for sales declines so far has been to induce artificial shortages by just keeping the chips in warehouses, waiting for the stock in retail and distribution to go out.As per the insider, this has happened because of a sharp drop in the terminal sales, leading to declines in the retail and even wholesale prices. Due to the overstocking, the industry experts now expect the manufacturers to lower their prices throughout August.
There's no telling that the situation is so bad (could be hardware bugs in silicon) that 6090 ends up being the fixed version and then you just get maintenance updates for 5090 and 6090 ends up looking a lot better and you end up feeling screwed out of your money.
Almost $400 it could be: https://www.ple.com.au/products/675860/msi-geforce-rtx-5060-inspire-itx-oc-8gb-gddr7I want the new cute MSI RTX 5060 with the circular ITX cooler. 8-pin though.
It would be an 8GB replacement for a 4GB GTX 1650 .
no it has everything to do with gaming. This has pretty much NOTHING to do with gaming.
Unless something changes to blunt AI demand, '090 cards are just going to remain largely sold out at anywhere near MSRP.
ITX cards always sell at a premium, unfortunately. I had to import my passive cooled KalmX 3050 6GB from Germany coz it's usually hard to find. But when it did eventually become available on my local Amazon, I would've saved maybe max $70 vs. importing it.Ouch. Whatever happened to 50-series overstock, prices dropping at retail.
The RTX cards were originally designed for GAMERS.
These are mutually inclusive, though.I really just want a videocard with a ton of gaming prowess, doesn't need AI, doesn't need transcoding. All it needs to do is render RTX, DLSS, has a lot of memory, and be able to steam roll though any gaming engine @ 4K with 120fps+, and not cost more then what the monthly payments on a lease for a luxury car is.
Hell, one brand or another of 3060 12GB has been in the number one spot on Amazon consistently. 30 series has multiple models in the top 10 every time I look now. The 3050 6GB being the other. Bigger bar better is losing to VRAM and pricing? I suppose the 6GB could also be popular because it is the best new card in the $200 and under tier, also slot powered, for rehabbing the cheap Intel 8th/9th gen office PCs.Used market is still a clown show.
New stuff just isn't putting much/any downward pressure on the last Gen line-up, people don't really have anything to really sell and upgrade too so inventory isn't there.
Meh might get me excited if the 5070 Ti was $550. No way I'm spending over five bills on a 12GB card.Maybe there is something to that rumor. Asus Prime 5070 for $548.99 https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-SFF-Ready-Graphics-2-5-Slot-Axial-tech/dp/B0DS6V1YSY/
Typo? The Ti is 16GB, the plain 5070 is 12GB. I'm curious about the price of the rumored Super cards with 3GB gddr7 chips.Meh might get me excited if the 5070 Ti was $550. No way I'm spending over five bills on a 12GB card.
