$1/day, per 12-card rig? Profit's profit, my man .

This week, until a few more cards turn to it. None of these low volume alt-coins can sustain any attention.

Maybe he can make a whole $5-$7 before it collapses, and he's back to earning zero.

He'd make more money, selling the rig and investing the money.

Indeed. Call me back when a coin produces sustained profits for a month or two.

Keep in mind that the price is likely to drop once a bunch of people start mining it and selling the coin. So the only way to make the profit from the video is to time travel to the past and beat the hordes. Of course, that YouTuber earns money by sending that horde to a coin that is briefly profitable. He's probably already moved on to a different coin.

I'm starting to wonder if we are actually going to see increased performance/price in the $6-700 price range.

NE has a Chinese Mllse 2060 Super 8GB card for $209. Shipped from China. That is 95% of a 3060's performance for 60% of the price ($360 via partpicker).

Meh, I would trust that even less than the Chinese 5700XT for ~$150. For that price, a new RX 6600 is the buy. Or buy a used 5700XT or higher locally, for under $200. Might even get a used 6700XT for around $200.

Ali express has some decent deals. I got a Chinese Rx 580 (rebaged 570?) For the price local retailers are selling a gt 730. Runs stable, looks nice, fan is not too loud and arrived quickly.

Where are you? I shop in the US (Amazon, etc) and get it shipped cheaply (courier firms) to Trinidad, If this US GPU tariff starts, I'm probably shopping elsewhere.

Sydney Australia. This was the first time I bought from Ali Express as a bit of a test. I will definitely shop from there in the future, although being careful on the seller/product specs is probably a good idea.

They don't do computer parts but I have bought a lot of phones, laptops, random electronic things from Bangood and always had a very good experience. They are slightly more expensive for stuff but are an individual store, so you don't need to worry about dodgy sellers.

I learned when dealing with chinese gpu's unless its from a reputable vendor, and yes there are reputable chinese vendors like galaxy and colorful, well i guess they are more tiwanese vendors, new usually means they reballed the GPU off a reputable vendor onto a third party PCB, so its not really new, but more repurposed.

So you really get what you paid for.
Also expect fully customized bios' and also i wouldn't be surprised on some occasion if its a mobile GPU somehow hacked to work as a dedicated GPU on a desktop.

That's just the way of the world. You get what you pay for, and also don't get what you don't pay for.

well unfortunately if its from wish.com or the darker side of newegg third party, you don't even get what you paid for, with no buyers protection on top as well.

So the supply of Ampere at Newegg (that Newegg sells, not the scalpers) is getting pretty low. And only one card, a 3060 Ti, is below the original MSRP, and that's only with a promo code.

They also have some 4080s available, at over the MSRP.

Glad I grabbed a 6700xt as a hedge a couple of weeks ago, even though it wasn't quite as good a deal as I wanted. Not delivered yet, so still have the option of grabbing a different card if a better deal pops up.
