Anyway, here is an interesting article on the topic, this is essentially a characterization of the negative side of what we're talking about:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/por...7/01/16/ftwives116.xml

Hahah, that's not what I said. I said I don't want a peon who makes 20k. One or the other, maybe, but not both! 😛

What about a teacher who loves his job, excels at it, and is financially responsible but only makes 35k. Just wondering...

Depends. Do I have to dress up like a schoolgirl? 😉 Hahah.

But in regards to the article... that's really sad. I'd be pissed, too. Marriage should be equal. The wife shouldn't be mooching off of her husband like that. :|

I'd be willing to bet that lots of women would say that but wouldn't actually commit to it in the end.

Yes, that is true. Most women wouldn't admit to being a disgusting leech, I'm sure.

As long as he is comfortable with his job and doesn't mind me making over 100k more than him, I don't mind him being a teacher. As long as he is everything else I need in a partner, at least.

I think men too.

If he makes money(enough for himself) and is happy doing what he wants to do, then you should be happy with that, or he'll find someone who is.

win.

as Marilyn Monroe once said.... "Don't you know that a man being rich is like a girl being pretty?"

article is lame.
sure if you consider a useless woman a trophy wife then perhaps that applies. but generally it means a woman that will at least have and take care of your children. as for "evolution", it works out perfectly, the man wants hotter genes, and she wants successful ambitious ones that can feed her kids. as for it leading to so called toxic wife thats a load of nonsense. the 50% divorce rate isn't from trophy wives. in fact with women, even successful ones try to attract even more successful husbands whereas mostly men only care if the woman is hot. if a woman and man are evenly matched, or she is more successful, she will demand more sacrifices from him, whether its taking care of the children or moving for her job. this will strain the relationship. he will resent her dominance, and deep down she won't respect him. and thats pretty toxic right there.

I have found that most young men who use the term "trophy wife" aren't married, have never cared about anyone but themselves and chances are never will be married because of that fact.

Maybe someone said it and I missed it (long thread) but I think nobody's hit on the true definition/purpose of "trophy wife" or "trophy husband" for that matter.

The typical trophy wife is 20+ years younger than her mate. Her mate is typically pretty successful financially, divorced (newly) and going thru his mid-life crisis. He just got rid of the ball and chain who knows all his dirty secrets and being his same age, knows how the big game is played. And he's paying thru the ass in child support and alimony too.

The trophy wife is the brainless bimbo with the big tits and tight snatch who won't ask a lot of questions b/c she's honestly not that bright and is too happy driving her own BMW to daily shopping trips with his credit card. And the same goes for the tropy husband; albiet with different body parts.

You don't marry the trophy for LOVE. You marry the trophy for the admiration/jealously it will provoke from your social circle, and/or for the satisfaction of knowing you have this pretty little piece of arm candy that will do whatever you tell it to do. Those with the trophy spouse KNOW THIS to be true and are ready for and can afford another divorce. It's an inevitability anyway, in that situation. Sooner or later, said fine bimbo will fine some guy that's a little younger with a little more money and she's gone.

Personally, I'd NEVER have a trophy wife b/c I work too damn hard for the slightly comfortable salary that I do make. And if I ever became rich (and divorced...not that I want that) I STILL wouldn't have the trophy wife b/c I don't give anything away. I'd have 5 different trophy GIRLFRIENDS, but not wives.

And I'm done. /slams empty beer mug on bar and walks away

I think this is common. The girls I've talked to about this have said openly that they will go after a lawyer, doctor, etc. if they don't find somebody really special in college. Then I've seen it actually happen, when the party girls cling on to Harvard students or law students once they become seniors. I don't think there is much wrong with it, if positions were reversed I'd probably want to be with someone who could provide me with a nice living also. I'm also more traditional in that I'd like a wife who does the cooking and whatnot and I do the work, so if these types of girls are more able to provide that then I don't see it as being that bad for the guy either.

"Trophy wife" isn't really the term I'd use, I think that more applies if the girl is ridiculously hot an the guy is ridiculously old and/or ugly. If you're both about the same level of attractiveness and you get along but she wouldn't have dated you if you were working at McDonalds, well that is just reality.

Agreed. To be completely honest, I have every intention of marrying a guy who is well off financially. Granted, with the career I am pursuing, I will be making a lot of money myself. I don't want a guy who makes less than I do. Not only is there the possibility of him being insecure about that fact, but I don't want a man mooching off of me.

And you wonder why equality between the sexes is hard to achieve. I say there should be a more or less equal ratio of sugar daddies to sugar mummies. And I don't think they are parasites, 2 willing parties so both win.

Income differential means very little to me since I ended up with most of the chores anyway 🙁

Traditional marriage /= Trophy wife

In fact, they are the exact opposite of each other. The true stereotype of trophy wife wouldn't be caught dead cooking or cleaning; her cuntry club friends would make an example out of her and she'd be shamed into exile.

You've done it now. Expect thousands of PMs.

so you can see yourself marrying this girl eh? i'm assuming you've dated or she at least knows you exist, and i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt on that one.

my own opinion is that once you get involved with a girl and fall in love, whether it be with her mind or body (99% of the time it will be her body, AKA a little patch of fur called "pussy"), you'll do anything to keep it going. you'll forget all about what she has to offer in terms of personality / compatibility just to keep tappin that ass.

so throw out all the crap you think you want in a wife, it doesn't matter anyway. don't pretend to be the one man on the planet that thinks with the right head. you're a dog, you will go for the best peice of ass you can get. if her beauty is more than skin deep, bonus.. although there is something to be said for wives that are as dumb as a box of bricks. trust me, my wife is very intelligent as well as a knockout, and after 5+ years of marriage i can definitely see the benefits of marrying a bimbo 😀
