Are thread ever deleted

A couple months back, around early march, I strated up a thread somewhere (probably tech support) about trying to revive a dead hard drive of mine. Well, last night Windows crashed out of nowhere and after rebooting, 70gb of data on 2 drives was completly corrupted 🙁 In my old thread someone mentioned a program (not norton diskdoctor) that might be able to revive my data, so I went back to try to find that thread.

Problem is, I just can't find it. I searched for every thread I started in every forum in both "current messages" and "older then 45 days", but it's just not appearing. I was wondering if threads are ever deleted? I know it probably wasn't for lack of volume, because I got 15 or 16 responses or so.

Older threads are archived or deleted after awhile.
If it hasnt been posted in since early march then odd's are it's gone.

there was a recent deletion of posts after 1 year old in the archive.
 
Not many threads are deleted before they are archived, though some are. I think it's after 1 year that archived threads are deleted or at least no longer accessible. Someone else mentioned losing a thread from March, perhaps something happened to some data from that time.
