Those fans in that dump we called DC should be ashamed of themselve. I don't care what your political view is, you just don't boo your president. This is so sad that our country has come to this.

I can't stand W, but I still think it's pretty lame to boo the president like that. Damn, he's got an arm though :p

I don't really get this incredible deference to the president you guys have, you're basically treating him as if he's a fucking king.

I can only imagine how you'd react to the fine tradition of heckling found elsewhere on the planet.

No offense, but you sound like you are one of those douchebags who don't remove their caps during the national anthem at ballgames.

I certainly did not treat Bill Clinton like a king because I warmly applauded him during his appearance. It's a thing called common courtesy-- like it or not the man (or woman) who is President has earned the right to be treated with a modicum of respect.

Every politician gets booed at sporting events.
The one exception I can remember is GWB at Yankee Stadium during the WS after 9/11.

You are defending him as though he is a king--by connecting the lack of respect for him as a lack of respect for the country. The President is a servant of the people and they have every right to boo him, not only because that is our constitutional right but because he is a fellow citizen. No better, no worse from the start, you can boo or applaud him as you wish.

He has only "earned" it by defeating John McCain, Al Gore (I won't open that can of worms), and John Kerry in elections. This isn't some divinely appointed figure. He put himself out there to be elected, was, and if he fucks up and deserves a boo then so be it, he will get a boo.
