Vlad - Way too early
Sheffield - Needs some more good years
Chipper Jones - Needs some more good years

Biggio - Yes, as a 2B

No locks in their, Jr has the best shot, based on numbers, foillowed closely by Juan Gon. Vlad has the most potential to reach HOF numbers, IMO.

Are you kidding? Biggio was one of the best 2nd basemen in the league for many many years along with Alomar. They are both locks for the HOF. IMO, he is more a lock for the HOF than Bagwell. I love looking at his stats from 97.

146 runs!/22 hr's/81 rbi's/47 sb's/.309 avg

Those are incredible numbers. Too bad he and Bagwell choke in the playoffs.

Jr - how can you say very doubtful? He is still only 33 or 34 - if he can play 4 or 5 more HEALTHY season's he will be in the top 10 all time HR's - lock if he gets that far
Juan - numbers are very impressive, but has few fans in the media - again, if he can stay healthy for 4 or 5 more full seasons, possible
Sheff - needs to stay on pace of last few years
Chipper - see Sheff

I have to say that I think Biggio has the least chance - his numbers as a whole really aren't eye-popping.

I think Biggio has a good chance. Second basemen have never been known for their power. Biggio was always a great leadoff man, he always scored a lot of runs, had pop in his bat, gold glover, and stole bases while always hitting around .300. Soriano may set the new standard for second basemen, but Biggio and Alomar were the standard in the 90's.

really? i'm surprised you say that about biggio because i believe you to be a pretty knowledgeable fan. i don't think many 2nd basemen get in on offensive numbers alone. biggio is definitely possibility into the HOF if you ask me.

Manny Ramirez - Manny need 550 HR in my opinion to get in.
Vladimir Guerrero - way to early to talk about it, is he one of 2 or 3 most talented baseball players today? yes, HOFer? give him time
Ken Griffey Jr. - Yes
Juan Gonzalez - tough call, decent numbers but, what has he really done?
Gary Sheffield - better shot than Juan Gon in my opinion.
Craig Biggio - in this group mb 4th or 5th most likely.
Chipper Jones - it helps him that he's been on a "winning" team. but he needs 7 more seasons that maintain his current average. but he has hit a lot of BIG BIG game winning HR's. i think those things help when it comes to HOF voting.

I"m surprised so many people think Chipper has a good chance if he keeps it up. He is my favorite player, so of course i'd like nothing more to see him in the HOF, but I always thought his move to the outfield would hurt him greatly, even though it was a move that showed the world he was willing to do anything for the team. He probably wont make the all-star team more then a couple more times if even that for the rest of his career if he continues to play left field for the Braves, because his numbers simply aren't great for an outfielder. He was arguably the best 3rd basemen in the league for the last half of the 90's, but is .300/30homers/100rbi's in today's offensive biased game enough for the HOF?

again, it's not just his absolute numbers, it's WHEN he gets those hits. he seems to get lots of big hits. major game winning hits. those are the types of things that the HOF commitee looks at beyond just the absolute numbers.

I hate Chipper Jones, but I think he's one of the most underrated players in the game. He may have been one of the best offensive 3B in the league in the 90's, but his defense was atrocious and he's only spent 7 years at 3B. His move to LF definitely hurts him.

I personally believe that he'll need a few more big years to be a HOF. I wouldn't call him a HOFer right now. If he can keep it up for the next few years, then he could be.

Well I said his 3B defense was horrible. I just think that he's been underrated the last couple of years because he didn't hit 30 homeruns and that's what a lot of people only look at. He's an OBP machine though.

he's pretty bad in LF too.

but yes, he is a very "clutch" hitter, if you believe that someone can be "clutch" that is.
