Building my new rig within next 3 days , i need some suggestion before i make my move.
So my budget was around $1500
Intel E8400 $239
Abit IP35 pro $179($30 MIR)
eVga 8800gts 320mb $218($30 MIR), i am not gonna play those lastest DX10 game, so i probably stick around with CS/CS:S
4G 2x2G G.skill DDR2 1000 $109
OCZ GamerX 700W sli $139 ($25 MIR)
Thermaltake Amor plus VH6000(I think is the best case out there that running under $200)
$214(got it from ebay, coz it sold out everywhere)
ZEROTHERM|NIRVANA NV120 / The reason i dont pick TR ultra 120 ex and Tquid t 120 because 1 was difficult to install and pricy , and one has too many bad reviews on newegg)
$45
2*150gb WD raptor(raid 0), I really hope i can see some noticable different
2*18X dvd sata burner
total is about $1500

So ,what you think >? is there any improvement that i could make?

I'd suggest you to forget G80 gpus. For the same tag price you can get a 8800GT 512mb, a HD3870 for around 190usd or the 9600gt. All this cards are better than the 8800GTS 320 and the two last ones are a bit cheaper too.

If I were going to drop the money on dual Raptors, I would want more than a hope that I'd see a performance difference. Anandtech has done articles on the subject, you might want to read them.

Like devil machine said, loose the 8800 GTS 320 and go for the 8800 GT, which is much better and at around the same price. I also think that two raptors in RAID 0 is not such a good ideea, I would just buy only one to keep my games on it and another "usual one" of 7200 rpm for file storage. Raid 0 is risky , it has a big chance of failure and you can loose your data and it doesn't give you to much of a performance.

If you read some of the numerous storage reviews out there you will quickly find that the Raptors do not hold a convincing lead any longer over the newer drives. Just get a 500GB or 750GB drive and you will be happier (3-5x capacity for the same price as one Raptor).

And yes, ditch the 8800GTS 320MB, that's an old card now that has been thoroughly outclassed by the G92-based 8800GT 512MB and/or the Radeon HD3870 (great value these days at $190).

I would not get that ram... I had to RMA two kits that would not run at published speeds look at the OCZ or Mushkin links here

OCZ

or

Mushkin

(the one product review has your exact set up and seems to like it)

I have the G.Skill and really not impressed at all...

Really like this case
for under 200

and for what it is worth I have two WD raptors in Raid 0 never had a problem.. just my experience... I know the risks that is why I have a 500Gb Samsung spinpoint Backup

Shop around and use the hot deals forum. Don't buy everything from Newegg coz they like to gouge lately. It will save you a couple hundred bucks I bet.

What are you doing with the system? Are you a gamer? Video Editing? 3d Modeling

Unless you are a tweaker you don't need that board, a vanilla Asus or Gigabyte p35 board can be had for around $100

The e8400 prices will come back down to the $200 mark, unless you are pressed I would wait it out.

I agree with everyone else, get a 9600GT, 8800GT or, depending on your use, maybe an 8800GTS (g92).

What do you need that sort of disk access speed for? I have a difficult time justifying even a single raptor - raid0 is fun, but it can be a pain sometimes.

You burning 2 dvd's at a time?

Thanks for all your advices !!
I have done some research about comparing between the 512 gts and 320 gts of 8800 series. however i know the g92 are doing much better than the old g80 ,but like what i said before , i am not a big gamer anymore.
(Didn't realize the 8800gt are g92 til' i read ...oops !!)
About the storage, i never own any raptor before ,so it's my dream to have 2 that build with raid 0, and i got 1.5TB my book as my back up drive, otherwise,i ordering another SG 500/720gb drive in a moment here .

I pretty regret that i bougt the 8800gts 320 already(underway shipping) . is it anyone here need an upgrade ? i will sell it for $50 less to get a 8800gts 512.

If you're willing to lose 50 smackers, then you might just send the item back and ask for an exchange.
At worst, you will pay a 15% restocking fee. And you will still save some money. If they customer rep is cool, you won't have to pay anything at all.
What does the return policy state on graphics cards?

BTW, where the heck did you get an E8400 at that price.
At this time, their prices are shooting through the roof.
