are there ways to transfer files from a pc to a mac?

It is easy in OSX to turn on a FTP server. Just FTP to an account with write access from the PC. Vice versa... I'm not sure. OS X might be able to read Windows File Sharing easily enough, but I'd have to check with my roommate, I'm not sure if he can on our network or not...

what about a usb flash drive, mac's have usb right?

- Ethernet/WLAN and FTP or Samba
- USB sticks work
- External HDs by USB or FireWire (Macs fully support FAT32, but vanilla OS X can only read, but not write NTFS)
