Are there problems with Java and Server 2000 versions

I have a copy of Citrix 3 and Server 2000 standard & advanced. I was playing around trying to get Citrix to install, but always locks up during the install. After I reboot, the citrix console is installed, but when I try to open it the computer locks up. After about 8 formats and installs (6 standard, 2 advance & differnet updates/sp's) it seems its a problem with Java.

I downloaded Java 2 runtime v1.4.2_09 from Sun's website, but it locked the computer up half way through the install. When I rebooted java was installed and asked to download updates. I reinstalled Citrix (and it installed without trying to install java), but when I try to open the console, it locks the computer up.

Are there any known problems with Java and Server 2000? I also had it set up as a domain controller, but that shouldnt make a difference.
