are there places that will host your own server?

I have a server PC, but when I am not in college I am not going to have the bandwidth to support the server. But I don't want to "buy space" on an existing server. Are there places where I can bring in my PC and hook it up to their LAN and pay monthly to have it connected to a T1/T3? I would probably use about 10gb a month bandwidth...how much would this cost if i can do it?

i don't think i'd pay more than $200 a month, is this going to cut it?

btw just to make sure you understood what i said I have my own server and I want to bring ti someplace..i don't want to use someone else's box

Ok, then you should be fine, i think 200 is plenty, and yes, I understand what you mean, that is called co-location

Yep, it's called co-location as stated by tweakmm 🙂

I'm going to do that pretty soon... although I don't have to pay for it 🙂

you could also get 1.5Mb dsl(same speed as t1) and host it yourself. It is very easy and you have not limit on up/dl. With dsl you can even get 7Mb for about $250-300 month

can't get cable or DSL. right now we have 144/144 IDSL for $150 a month. best we can do without a $1000+ a month T1.
