Yeah, I was hoping to know this too just in case I need to switch SIM cards to a new phone.

Not AFAIK.
You may need to get a phone unlocked to switch SIM cards though.
(I'm from the UK)

Plus here you can buy SIM cards, so I doubt they'd be locked to certain phone slots. (Network operator yes, phones no)

Not going to say where I work or anything, but yes you MUST have the phone unlocked by the manufacturer in order to put in any SIM card in it.

or go to Howard Forums and ask in you specific phone forum. Most can be unlocked easily.

I unlocked my E715 and traveled to Germany. Bought a German prepaid sim and worked great.
