Are there different sizes of PCI cards?

This card is made by Texas Instruments and says PCI on it, but it's WAY bigger than the PCI slot in my Dell 5150. I hate to have to go to PCI-E, cuz they're more expensive.

Anyone know what gives?

It's a PCI-X card. It will fit in the regular PCI slot but will run at a slower bus speed (typically). I assume it has Firewire 800 and thus why they made it PCI-X

Thanks Quasmo!

It sounds like I need to go ahead and get a PCI Express Firewire card if I want to take advantage of the higher bus speeds. I've got the slot for it, just didn't know that's what I needed!

Oh well...live and learn...

thx again!
