Funny, I swore I played single player in them and they had zombies. LOL Its possible the OP is looking for something deeper though.

The single player in both is a tacked-on afterthought - might as well not even have it.

And yes they have zombies, but L4D and L4D2 are definitely NOT survival-horror games. It would be like calling the Library levels in the first Halo "survival-horror levels" because the Flood is zombie-like in that game.

Dead Island CAN be done single player but I've been getting my ass kicked. Those thug lifeguards always knock me down in one hit and I cant kill them before they kill me.

I played through the whole game dealing with this. Later, I went for another playthrough and discovered the joy of throwing your weapons. Keep a good selection of throwing weapons and see if you don't have a lot more fun!

In fact, just for fun, use the "throwing guy" as your character and take another stab at it. (pun intended) :)

While it's probably not a survival-style game, the Borderlands DLC "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned" was a good time.

I played Dead Island single player all the way through. I don't have any friends though, so I did not really have any choice. It was fun, though it did get a bit repetitive at points just driving back and forth across the island.

Good to know. I don't have any friends either, so I'll be playing single player too. I plan on starting it soon. I'm looking forward to it!

KeithTalent and rivethead, I declare that you two are now friends. Please go to PM and work out a time to play games together.

7 days to die has a SP mode. Even on multiplayer its rare to bump into a random player.
Its a green light work in progress but overall its fun just not 100 hours fallout fun but starting a new character is always interesting.

36 responses before mine and only three mentions of state of decay? So much fail, people, I know you can do better than this.

State of decay is a fairly low budget game but worth of a good number of hours. It's ambitious and an open game. It's very cheap and got a 79 on meta.

There's this little-known series called "Resident Evil" that no one seems to know about. Yeah. You might want to check a few of those out.

More recently the creator released "The Evil Within." Everyone's heard of that because the legendary id Software and Zennimax were involved. On that note, there's always Doom 3. ;)

Wow. This thread is so full of fail. Resident Evil practically invented zombie survival horror and no one mentioned the series in the past YEAR and so many expressed surprise and not seeing lesser titles mentioned?

Dying Light is awesome.
Walking Dead Tell Tale series is pretty great too.

Yeah where was the chat about Rust! Love that game

#1: Not single-player.
#2: Already mention even before another guy acted like it wasn't and a conversation ensued.

Please stop spamming. We know what you are up to.
