I have always had cable and ran a hauppauge pvr500.
I now have Dish, and I'd like to record stuff.
Is there a tuner card that'll do what I need it to do?
How do I get this done, or don't I?

Well, assuming your Dish tuner has RF out, you should be able to use your old card to do it. If it doesn't, you need a video card with video input capability. None of these will let you control the tuner from your PC, but you'll be able to watch stuff. If you're looking for a card that can act like the tuner box (decrypting the signal and changing the channel), then those do not exist.

I've done that, but it's not at all doing it for me.
I'm going to sell the pvr500 and wait and see what comes up.
Maybe a dvr for the dish?
