Are there any ROOMY good-looking Desktop cases?

Just curious if there's one out there that exists... tower cases come in all sizes, shapes and colors. I'm interested in finding a good desktop case that supports a FULL ATX motherboard, and an ATX PSU, is ROOMY inside, AND looks good (ie: not Biege!).

Does this exist, or is it a pipedream?

I tried a Coolermaster Cavalier 4 desktop case, and though it seemed fairly nice, was saddled with a proprietary SFX form factor PSU, making it useless for my needs.

I tried the Silverstone SST-LC03, and though it looks good, and supports both ATX MB and ATX PSU, the case is INCREDIBLY cramped... hardly any room at all... when the motherboard slides under the CD-ROM bay, and the system memory is a milimeter from the bottom of the drive bay, and your video card is almost resting against your hard drive, it's too cramped!

Outside of the everyday biege desktop case, are there any good-looking full ATX MB & ATX PSU cases out there that are roomy?

If you're going to make some smart-aleck response about how desktop is old-fashioned or S.U.X., please don't bother responding. Looking for serious answers. Differant strokes for differant folks, I just want a good desktop case for a main system. Any help appreciated. Case models are good, links are even better.

Ummm... thanks, but I did say I was looking for a DESKTOP CASE, not tower.

Folks... I need the following:

1) DESKTOP CASE (not Tower)

2) FULL ATX MB support

3) ATX PSU support

4) ROOMY

5) Not Beige

Is there anywhere in the world this case exists?

How do you get a "roomy" desktop case? Isn't the entire point of a small form factor case to be... small?

Who the heck said I wanted a small form factor case?

"Back in the day" you used to be able to get roomy desktop cases... you can still find some (Enlight for instance, but they are biege).

I do not want small form factor... I do not want Tower. Is there anybody who still makes roomy ATX desktop cases that aren't beige?

I cannot believe what I have listed is that confusing. If they don't exist, they don't exist, but I thought what I am searching for was plainly explained.

Mabye if you gave us a link to what you were looking for IN beige, we could find something similar for you.

This is roomy enough:
http://www.directron.com/endesatx3064.html

But Beige.

Most of the nice HTPC cases look good, but a 16" depth is too short (as most of the HTPC cases are). The depth is what kills most desktop cases, because it causes drive bays to be up against the PSU and/or Video card, not to mention ruin airflow.

The Enlight 7200 is kind-of the last of the large desktop cases, but it's very boring, and I'm not artist at painting either.

You're not going to find many desktop cases that fit your needs. Most desktop cases are being built around HTPCs which are designed around fitting in with 17" equipment.

17.2 x 7.0 x 16.0 - ahanix
16.7 x 6.3 x 16.0 - silverstone
17.3 x 5.4 x 16.6 - cavalier

The Ahanix D.Vine 4 is slightly taller, whch can help. It also supports a full ATX PSU. It's also going to cost you well over $200. InWin makes a few desktop cases, but they're beige.

It's too bad you've written off the Cavalier. I love mine. :)

Nessism... that's definately getting warm, thanks for the link. Still a bit plain, but at least it's not beige! 17" deep is a little better then what I've got now (16" deep in current case). Man, I wish I could at least find the Enlight 7200 in black (18.8" deep!!!).

I do agree the Coolermaster Cavalier looks sharp... that's why I wanted it... at least until I found out it had a proprietary SFX PSU with a measly 300watts. I need more juice for my system, and the ability to upgrade later if need be. Coolermaster wrote themselves off by making an otherwise decent case with a crummy PSU that can't be swapped out.

I apologize if you think I am being rude... I am simply trying to ask a specific question. Columbiafier you answered with a tower case when I specifically mentioned desktop. Another mentioned Small Form Factor when I mentioned I need room. I was not trying to be rude, I was simply stating I was looking for a DESKTOP, not a tower.

Please do not take offense when none is intended, I thought I was quite clear with my question, which is why when people mention towers and small form factor, it seems to me they are not understanding what I thought I had written clearly.

You can put a tower on a desktop.

Why do you want a desktop case so bad, its not like its 1995. The only colors you would find any desktop case would be beige, white, or black( very rare).

Columbiaflier, are you being serious? If I am not being clear I apologize... Desktop is a form factor, not a place in space. I am asking for desktop form factor. Tower cases do not equal desktop form factor.

Nissism has been helpful, and beatle understands what I seek. I'm hoping for more answers like that... I'm not trying to force a square peg into a round hole... I really am looking for a desktop form factor case that meets the criteria I mentioned. I don't want a tower or a small form factor (or flex) case.

Desktop is not a form factor. ATX is a form factor.

Bleh... I knew that question would come up at some point... I'm fully aware the industry loves towers over everything else. I just like desktops... personal preferance. There's no magic reason, it's just a preferance thing with me. I also like 80s music... call me old fashioned.

I am fully aware I am searching for a needle in a haystack... what I seek may not even exist, but it's worth a try. Maybe there is someone out there who knows of the case I seek. I know this is a longshot, but I'm trying to find this dream case, which I'm sure is not the norm in 2005.

I have a dream.

EDIT:
Columbiaflier, if you know that, then you know what a desktop case is, so please don't troll.

There are plenty of what you seek out there. Look for Silverstone, Cooler Master or Ahanix cases. I believe Ahanix has one.

a tower is cirtianly classified as a desktop. anything non-portable is a desktop; you should have been more specific.

Okay, now the posts are getting silly. The guy clearly wants a desktop case, meaning the one that is horzintally laid out that sits below a monitor.
I don't know the answer to his question. But to nitpick his wording is not constructive.

Wolfshanze,
I feel your pain. People don't hardly even remember what a "desktop" case is anymore.
Finding one with room is also hard to do.
I like the old school look of the desktop cases. But, they have very little "Bling".

Columbiaflier... I have the only Silverstone that remotely comes close, but it's very cramped, the Coolermaster I had to rule out because they are hobbled with weak proprietary PSUs... as for Ahanix, thanks for the tip... I checked them out, but they are the very definition of HTPC... they don't even have external 3.5" bays (which I still use). Hmmm... must keep searching.

Thanks mrscintilla and Blain. Yeah, I love the "desktop thing", but like you say Blain, it's very difficult to find much of anything beyond a plain beige case or a cramped HTPC case.

Right now, I have a Silverstone LC03 which looks sweet externally, but it is INCREDIBLY cramped on the inside and my 6600GT is butting up against my HD... if I were to upgrade to a video card that is any longer, there's no chance it would fit in my cramped case, so I'm looking for something bigger (mostly deeper from front to back) that also looks nice.

Alas, this is my delima.
