Are there any PC cases like the PowerMac G4 cases?

I mean with the fold out side door for the motherboard and such?

If not why?
If so can you point me in the general direction to one?

<< i know this doesnt really help you, but i saw a dell a few weeks ago with a similar layout >>

Can you find pics of it?

It gives me the chance that someone makes a case like what I am looking for.

probably not, unfortunately (but ill see what I can do). i can try to describe it if that helps -- the case opens up like a book, on one side of the book there is the mobo and all of its cards, and on the other side are all of the drives and the psu

I think the case that mee987 is trying to describe is a Dell Optiplex 150. Most people set their Optiplex 150 as a vertical tower. Case pivots on a hinge and the two sides opens like a book. see picture. It works.. but not as well as Mac.

I work with Macs alot at work and have been impressed by how easy it is open the right-side fold-down door to get to the Mac G3/G4 motherboard. In fact, the latch was so easy to open the case that we've had students steal PC133 RAM and Mac ATI Radeon videocards. 🙁

Here's a site where someone put a MicroATX case in a G4 graphite case.

^ Sound like they need to invest in locks for the computers. 🙂

Is there a source for the Mac cases that anyone knows about? They're probably impossible to find by themselves. It would be fun to mod one, but I don' t just happen to have a g4 case sitting around 😉

Neuroanatomist sounds like a pretty good source 🙂

Anyone know for certain of that fold down dell case can perfectly house any standard atx motherboard?
