Are there any new 8800 drivers that sort the CSS issues?

Basically, its the issue where by fog on levels such as Dust2 don't blend but instead suddenly start from a certain point. And in the distance, fog almost covers people so you can't see very clearly. Something to do with the drivers not being able to so HDR and fog on Valve games.

Do any of the newer drivers sort the issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also I'm running an 8800 GTS on Windows XP.

Here are some examples. Ignore the low settings, it does it even with max settings etc
It's a driver issue, not settings, as I've tried every variation of every kind of setting and cfg edit.

This is a known application problem that needs to be fixed by Valve.

It's not with HDR.
It's with any source game with any settings IIRC.

Some say it's Valve and the Source Engine others say Nvidia needs to fix the problem.

BFG knows his stuff so I'll just go with what he says. It's a issue that needs to be fixed by Valve I guess :p

No, it's a 2-D sprite present under the lowest settings possible as well. Well ... I'm saying no, you can't get it of it, but maybe it's technically possible to remove the sprite, however you might end up having visual anomalies or game issues because the sprite is missing. Or even simpler, you will automatically download the sprite again the next time you join a server. I highly doubt that anyone can actually just get rid of it.

I didn't even notice it before I looked at this thread. I think you guys are making something big out of something really small.

Nvidia in their latest drivers acknlowedge the issue as an application specific problem. They are working with the developer(Valve) to fix it.

It's a BIG thing for me.
I play for a clan in tournaments etc

This 'issue' has greatly impacted my distance killing on maps like Dust2.
For example, in 'mid' section, I can't even see from one end to the ramp, the people are all fogged out and it's harder for me to get in a perfect shot.

It's really annoying.

IIRC running the game under the DX8 path fixes it, though you do lose some effects.
