Are there any morally right ways to slow "overpopulation"?

I been thinking about this and by 2050 the Earth will most likely be depleted of most of its natural resources.

Oil will probably be hoarded and etc.,

Are there any morally plausible ways to even attempt to stop overpopulation?

What I mean is that no mass killing or purposely spreading enhanced viruses around the globe.

Do what China does. Big bonuses to families with a single child and simply withdraw them if they have more than one (abnormal circumstances excepted). If they could just get over the whole "boy good, famiry regacy carry on" and quit fucking with their girl infants I think it's a pretty civil system, but the problem is a result of the people and not the implementation itself imo.

Yea I think if you were to implement a one child policy around the world the boy would be prioritized.

Education of women causes birth rates to plummet. There was actually an interesting national geographic piece about overpopulation last year where if trends continue as they are world population will continue to increase for maybe another generation or two and will then start to decline. The article pointed out the one child policy has a big deal made out of it but birth rate was already declining rapidly before it was instituted. Another thing that was pointed out was the maximum theoretical population the earth could sustain has been exceeded over and over again throughout history only for a new target to be set as new technologies appear and change the equation. It seems things aren't as dire as we like to think.

So I'd argue we should just do what we are going to do anyway: Nothing.

If JUST oil is depleted, we are talking about 90-95% of the people being wiped off this planet.

BILLIONS of people owe their life to OIL, without it, population growth would've stayed the same as prior.

Mandatory IQ exams. Anybody under a certain limit (maybe like 100) should be sterilized. Also if you go unemployed after the age of 18 (if you never attended college or some type of school) for more than xyz years, then sterilize.

Also, speaking of morals...Who's to say spreading enhanced viruses to kill off a certain populaiton is bad? I mean, think about it. Which would you rather see happen: Thousands of useless middle eastern people die, or your family because resources and the cost of living got so high, you all starved to death or were killed for your resources.

I don't know if this is ignorance or craziness.

You do realize this day and age lot of SMART kids are deciding NOT to go to college simply because it's too expensive/can't afford it and are not willing to take on mortgage like debt?

And IQ/higher education doesn't really go hand in hand either. I've met more idiots that went to college than those that didn't.

What you talking about willis?

While you are it, go ahead and sterilize people that do not have blond hair & blue eyes. Hell take it up a notch, just kill them, no reason to have these "people" around.

What did Steve Jobs do?

Assuming no college = not smart is just stupid

College education is good ONLY for certain professions. Many do NOT require higher education.

I'm on my 3rd professional career and I've been people in all professions that are smart/dumb. College education level had NO bearing on that.

Not saying Education is not good. But I think it's safe to say that we are getting to a point where it's slowly "no longer worth it". College cost increased more than ANY other industry.

On top of it, Banks are lending out money to EVERYONE left and right....and everyone and their MOTHER has a college degree now.

It used to be a privilege....for certain people. With the amount of kids going to college, the degrees are no longer worth what they used to be.

More and more employers are looking at WORK EXPERIENCE vs College education.

I think you misread the quote. He said

if you go unemployed after the age of 18 (if you never attended college or some type of school) for more than xyz years

Meaning if you aren't employed for x years while also not being in college (i.e. doing nothing).

Nobody said you had to go to college. Nobody said college = smart.

Make welfare contingent upon not further worsening your state in life.

Have another kid = no more welfare.

Or, forced IUDs for women on welfare. If you can't take care of yourself or the kids you have, you shouldn't be having more.

Or, tax breaks for people who have fewer kids.

One child per marriage actually reduces the population by my highly sophisticated calculations. Seems like two should be ok.

No, you give incentives for having only ONE child because you know some families are going to have 2, 3, 4+ regardless.
