Are there any mods that make Dragon Age 2 better?

I'm a big fan of Dragon Age Origins, and it does sadden me to see EA pretty much ruin it. But that topic has been done to death in various threads.

So, are there any mods that make DA2 better? Most of what I see on DA Nexus are extra hair styles, some weapon&armor artwork, but nothing major. Any new companion members or actual quests? Or anything to correct the deficiencies in the game's combat?

All the rumblings from the Kickstarter projects is getting me hankering for some CRPGs.

BioWare never released a toolset for Dragon Age II, so mods are not possible in the same way they were for Origins. At most modders can do texture reskins.

The best mod for this game is to uninstall it.

Sad such a crappy game could have an even worse sequel.
And murder the franchise.

Gary Gygax must be rolling in his grave.

Play Dragon: Age origins and the expansion. Don't torture yourself with DA2, as I did. I played start to finish and realize that I had done the same dungeon 74823479823 times, what a horrible game.

Now now people. Dragon Age II wasn't *that* bad.

Are you kidding me? It was good for about 30 minutes but if you play it completely to the end you will realize what a steaming pile of garbage it is. The entire game is one city and the same 3 dungeons repeated to infinity with reskinned enemies.

Sorry, DA2 is crap.

Did anyone actually beat the game? I got to the third act and just couldn't take anymore.

I should have listened to the warnings and cancelled my preorder, but I had faith.

NO NO NO guys!!

You can't trust user reviews. You're all just sour grapes because it wasn't exactly like DAO.

I haven't played the game yet, at all, but I know everyone who didn't like it is just biased and living in the past.

Honestly, I liked the game. Not great, and not as good as DA. If you went into it not thinking it was DA2, it was fine. Then again I don't spend more than $15 or so on a game. But was worth the $12 or whatever i paid for it.

Sorry, DA2 is crap.

You need to play some actually crappy games. DAII may not be quite up to BioWare's past standards, but it is still good. Fun, interesting characters, plenty of sidequests to investigate (albeit in several recycled environments, but was that enough to call Mass Effect 1 a crap game?), interesting plots, particularly the Qunari arc, but rather messy in the end. Combat and leveling was improved over Dragon Age Origins, though it kind of sucks that you can't customize your party members' gear.

DAII is merely good. Not great. Not bad.

I don't regret playing DA2; but thought the reuse of maps (and poor maps at that) was rather lame. The rest was ok; not the best but fine.

If DA2 wasn't called Dragon Age, nobody would play it.

It isn't even good. It is par to subpar.

Characters are uninteresting and bipolar.
Sidequests are generic, unworthy, and streamlined to the point where I don't even have to know what I'm doing other than "click here".
The plot is one of the worst parts! How could you even call DA2's plot interesting?
Combat and leveling were NOT improved. The attempt to make things 'visceral' just destracted from immersion, and the game threw away all sense of tactics with "press A to do awesome things". However I think that the skill tree structure was an improvement. The skills themselves were lacking, however.

It is honestly one of the worst games I've played. That said, I usually make sure I'll like a game before I buy it.

Characters were great. Varric is a trademark BioWare standout.
Make no mistake, the plot at the very end utterly falls apart. Everything basically gets explained as "they went crazy". But the plot for most of the game was good. The tension between the qunari and the rest of Kirkwall, and then the tension between mages and templars, was good. The battle with the qunari was probably the best part of the story.
Did you play the game on PC? Combat worked basically the same as in DA: O, just more fast paced (and the camera was annoyingly locked onto your current character). You could still pause and plan tactics.

I did actually beat the game, but every other time I've tried to play it, I don't make it to the Deep Roads expedition. :/

I did like some of the characters though, Isabella, Merrill, and Varric. And I found the plot decent, but my gripes were that it was poorly implemented and developed. With another year or two of dev time, they could have fleshed it out more fully. But I didn't want to start another DA2 bashing thread, we know the game is crap . . . was looking for ways to make it bearable. :p

I still have nightmares of enemies falling from the sky and popping out of the ground. D:

Okay not really, but DA2 was awful, and the argument "If you don't think of it as Dragon Age it's not so bad" is just as bad. Uh that's the reason why I got it? It's one of the few times I've been duped into buying a game that just sucked. Now I've already written off the third one before hearing anything about it. Bioware died the day they became EAssimilated.

At least there's Project Eternity to look forward to. That should sate my RPG needs.
