Are there any Masons or Freemasons here?

Hiram was my father. Through spending the night in the great pyramid I recieved the gift of immortality.

I am a 361th degree mason.

My Dad always tells me it's not a secret organization, but it is an organization of secrets.

Regardless, I've seen his Masonic ring work wonders with traffic tickets, favors, and other generally unpleasent situations. 😉

2 B 1 ask 1

I was a member for awhile - until I realized they are a bunch of bigots. The Masonic lodge is still segregated - black Masons have their own (Prince Hall) lodges. I still don't understand why that hasn't changed......

Who the hell wants to join the freemasons...?

People who wish to make a difference in their communities. Freemasons are partially responsible for the founding of our nation as Thomas Jefferson had to call on them to get certain things accomplished. Others join for the social nature of the organization. Friends for life.

They do a lot for this nation but never take much credit.

You just finished watching National Treasure, didn't you?

Yeah...it's funny how many people believe that stuff 🙂

I once accidentally joined the Jackie Masons...it had a bunch of jewish guys doing Las Vegas acts. Not what I was expecting, but still a good time.

We found out, after he died, that my grandfather was a 20-something level freemason.

My dad never knew... that's how secret it was. lol

We only found out becuase we found their paperwork while looking though his records/papers.

Hahaha... We knew my grandfather was one, but when sorting out his stuff after he died we found several boxes full of their paperwork, including name/address lists for like half of Western-Europe 😛

As that still is considered 'clasified' by them they had to come and pick it all up, and as lower members were not allowed to see the lists they had to go pick it up with several high-ranking members 😀

No, but I'm a member of the No Homers Club (we're allowed to have 1). You can join our fine club if you're not named homer.

Do you know the secret handshake of XOR?

if both people are involved in the handshake, there must be no handshake? 😕

One could throw out their hand and the other could leave them hanging.

So far this is the only accurate information in this thread.

I have a friend who said he joined them. I haven't heard anything about it since then.
When I bought a car a few years ago, the old dude I bought it from must have thought I was giving a recognition sign or something, because after I shook his hand the first time, he said "Let's try that again" and did something odd with his hand.

Secret shake by accident? Hah. You should have said "Sorry I'm a little rusty... now about that discount...." haha j/k

I think I would have felt bad if I'd given him any less than $350 for the car 😛

Every president has been in the freemason group except for JFK. afaik.

Not even. Only about 10 presidents were freemasons, notably Washington, both Roosevelts, and Truman. Jefferson was not a freemason, and neither is Bush (W or HW).

Freemason conspiracy theories are pretty silly. Consider this, Buzz Aldrin is a freemason, Neil Armstrong is not. What's wrong with this picture?
