are there any home made business cards that actually look good?

rudeguy

I used the printable ones a couple years ago and they looked cheesy. Anyone tried any of these lately, or have some good hints?

my home made business cards look AWESOME.

i did them in publisher and the business card paper i bought is amazing. smooth edge when broken. plus i printed them on a xerox phaser printer. everyone that sees them comments on how great they are and are completely surprised when they find out i printed them myself.

where did you get the paper?

That was my big problem, the edges looked like crap.

I refuse to pay the guy at the print shop $50 a month for cards anymore.

as soon as Alias finished, i'll go downstairs and get you the name on the pack, plus i can send you a scan of my business card if you want.

want to crack out a couple thousand for me?

Laser is the only way to get it decent looking. Your local Staples/OMAX/ODEPOT carries all sorts of business card stock. Make sure to get the ones like PG has with the Clean Edge sides - usually a little bit more expensive than the normal perforated ones. Depending on what you want on it (custom logo, color, etc etc) the print shops inside the above mentioned places can make them for you (usually sent out to a third party)

I have priced them. I get a little deal from the guy I get them from now. I have known him for 7 years. I used to make his lunch everyday when I ran the Little Caesars in the same strip mall as him. I know I still pay too much, and hate waiting the week or two for him to get them made up.

I can get you 1000 full color gloss business cards for $75, shipped
People always skimp on small stuff like business cards but believe me..they do make an impression
on how professional your business is.
