I dunno about "good" and "wireless"...I got a set of inexpensive Advent wireless 900 Mhz speakers a few years ago...sound quality wasn't all that hot, and I could listen to my neighbor's phone calls...Not illegal, since they were using a wireless phone, but rather unethical. I did have fun with it however a couple of times...expecially with their teenage daughter's calls...
I finally put the speakers away, and haven't used them for 3-4 years...

As has been hinted: Good /= wireless. Wireless network connections are one thing. Wireless sound quality is a misnomer of the gravest degree. :(

You might as well have two trained small monkees sitting behind you, to the left and right and train them to screech on cue. That's about how good your wireless surrounds will sound.

No offense; quality sound does not come easily or cheaply. Get off your lazy ass and run wires under the carpet/thru the walls/under the floor/above the ceiling like the rest of us.

Man, the things I could do if I had TWO trained monkeys.

You hurt my head now. The wires are already run. If you want an improvement in SQ, surrounds is NOT where to look.

$100 surrounds connected with real wires will sound pretty much the same as $500 surrounds connected with the same wire. I run a $500/pair set of surrounds (Axiom QS8). They sound about "that much better" than the much cheaper surrounds I used to have. Surrounds are surrounds. (L/R/Center is a diff story)

I use 12-gauge wire all around, BTW.

Yeah, unless you're a 5.1 music fan, your surrounds aren't going to matter that much. If MichaelD has it right and you already have wires run, just go wired... and if you have good surrounds already then why are you changing things?

I guess I'm  too

I saw your birthday thread, and the suggested birthday present for you...The monoblocks. I had no idea you were an audiophile...or a cultured listener, depending on your point of view. :)

I consider myself a cultured listener with champagne tastes and a beer pocket. :D My modest setup is db-meter calibrated.

My very short list:

This is my subwoofer.

These are my left/right speakers:

These are my surround speakers (I need to get two more for the rear channels!)

I've seen pics of your setup. It looks a lot cleaner than mine. I used your Axiom boston cherry color as an example of what they might look like if I got them.

I wouldn't say audiophile... maybe sound enthusiast :)
( I would have thought that "Soundman" might have been a clue ;) )

I have to leave to go to madison in about 2 minutes so no time for links now, but my list goes something like

AV123 Onix Rockets ( 4 x RS550 MKII, 1 x RSC 200)

SVS 20-39 PC+

Panasonic AE900U (replaced my dying 4805)

Boston Acoustics AVP7, A7200

oh crap gotta go :p

(I'm sure I mentioned most of this in my birthday thread but oh well)

EDIT:

Don't have a link to the 550s as they are discontinued, but
RS 550MKII, RSC 200, and the old PB10
Another view :p

The 550s were usually $999/pair but were on sale for $699 at the time. I got the four RS 550s and the $599 RSC 200 for $1699 as a package.

RSC 200
http://www.av123.com/products_product.php?section=speakers&product=6.1

I got my SVS 20-39 PC+ used off ebay for $650.

I have the 12.2 driver instead of the newer 12.3 driver that came out. I'm considering getting the upgraded driver and selling the 12.2

My fun pics for people who complain about the size of their computer speakers

I have some pics of my projector results here
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/spmclaughlin/web/3%20Projector/"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/spmclaughlin/web/3%20Projector/">https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/spmclaughlin/web/3%20Projector/</a></a>

I was considering getting the Ultra Lites
but I ended up getting the Boston Acoustics set
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/spmclaughlin/web/Random/BAs.JPG"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/spmclaughlin/web/Random/BAs.JPG">https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/spmclaughlin/web/Random/BAs.JPG</a></a>

It's basically the same thing as the Newcastle P-965 and A-965 from what I understand. Boston Acoustics's electronics division was ended when Denon bought the company (again, from what I understand) :p
= got the Bostons for pretty darn cheap as they were discontinued.
Well... not all that cheap, but $1500 for the set. I'll find out if this was a dumb move in a year or two when all the new format stuff settles down. I figure I'll be able to buy an HDMI switch and be pretty set for the future as long as I get a player that can give my AVP7 an 8 channel analog signal.

I have a PB10-ISD. :)

Had that before the PC+.

Worked great for my dorm room, but it just wasn't the same once I got to a normal sized room. I'm still not back at the point where I was in the dorm with the PB10 :p

BTW, OP, there are no good wireless speakers. Just hide the wire under the carpet, behind furniture, or inside the walls.

That looks heavy. After moving a 36" wega a couple times, I'm done with heavy as long as I can help it.

Samsung and Panasonic make bluetooth speakers for HT. Might be worth a look.
