Are there any good online (or mail order) sources for seafood?

My wife and I love eating seafood (tuna, swordfish, salmon, halibut, snapper, shrimp ect) but buying from the local fish monger just gets incredibly expensive.

I live about as far away from an ocean coast as you can get, so I'm very limited in that regard.

Are there any online seafood shippers that are reliable and more cost effective than buying at the counter?

I'm assuming I'd have to go bulk...like the size of an alternator to make shipping worthwhile :p

bump since we also live in a seafood deprived area.

The shipping prices on that tonyseafood site is very prohibitive.

typically places that sell seafood online are more expensive. You are paying for freshness in general. I was out in Seattle on business a few weeks ago and found a place at Pikes FIsh market that ships fresh seafood from the west coast, but it aint cheap. VERY GOOD THO! I can get the URL if you want it.

If you are not worried abouit pollution, just head upstream to Gary/Chicago.:p

Otherwise, you may wish to check the yellow pages for fish houses along the coasts.

Many will ship; you just need to determine who will have what you desire.

Or contact public affairs at the local USCG offices at the major ports - they should be able to provide some "unoffical" leads

Too bad your not looking for beef. I know some good online sources for bulk beef.
