Are there any games like "Dragothic" in 3DMark?

I was wondering...and pardon me if I'm stupid, but is there a real game that the 3DMark2001 "Dragothic" is based on? I think it's a pretty sweet demo, and would love to fry townspeople from the back of a dragon, but haven't found any games that are like this. I was wondering if this was just something they made up, or there was a real game it was based on. Thanks!

I'm fairly sure there is a game that it's based on... someone once told me the name of it. I think it might have been Drakken 2.... but a quick google search turns up very little.

I would be interested in finding this game as well... could be very cool.

Edit: Alright... a little more searching... It's Drakan, not Drakken to start with... with a little info here. As you can see from the pic of the box art, it looks much like the Dragothic demo.

And then, there's PlanetDrakan.com which seems to have quite a bit of info.... Although I still haven't seen anything about a sequel to the game that would have better graphics. The original is from 1999.

Graphics are TombRaiderish, not as good as Dragothic.

I've actually played Draken . . . it's pretty good - as long as you are on the back of the Dragon ... a little slow playing as the warrior princess (although she is well-endowed from behind).

Graphics are so-so (dated, now) but the adventure and the story is "fun". Air attacks against other dragons are the highlight IMO.

Looks like there is a sequel on PS2. Check out the "concept art"!

Reminds me a lot of DragonStrike (I think that was the name) from SSI.

Hmm, I may have to look at Drakan. How old is the game? How descent does it look compared to other aged games, like Thief 2, NOLF, or such?

Pretty close . . . it has it's own engine and best of all an advanced level editor. Check out the links above for the screen shots. It's from 1999. D/L the demo for a taste of play.

EDIT: PM me if you want to buy my old Full-game Drakan CD for cheap (nice condition). I have never seen it in any bargain bin.
