Are there any Diablo clones out there besides Torchlight series, or Path of Exile?

The concept of the money auction house was good, since in Diablo 2 there was a lot of item selling outside the game, so they wanted to make it "better", but they ended up designing the game around it, which made the game worse, even though the item buying side was a more integrated experience.

Back on topic, Titan Quest and Titan Quest Immortal throne are very good Hack and Slash RPG games. I would strongly recommend them. And I have to say, I enjoy Diablo 3 a lot now after they got rid of the Auction House. Much better loot. The new adventure mode sounds like it would be what you are looking for, basically go to an area and clear it or battle a monster. Can usually finish an area in less than an hour.
I loved Titan Quest and Immortal Throne. Fabulous games and they're often on sale on Steam. The graphics look really nice to me, but maybe it's because I'm comparing to Diablo 2 and Torchlight.

I'm an early backer of Grim Dawn and I enjoy it. But if you don't like Titan Quest, it's very unlikely you'll like Grim Dawn.

Titan Quest is probably the best overall game. Plenty to do, lots of loot, customizable equipment that does NOT require sockets. Lots of good enemies and lovely bosses.

Tons of skills with various class combinations. Its loads of fun. Get the expansion before starting your first game. Like Diablo 2 it adds stuff to the core game as well as another chapter in the quest.

DO IT!

Is grim dawn finished yet? I backed it and played a couple hours but havent been back to it as I wanted it to get fleshed out.

It's not finished. I'd wait for their next update. It's supposed to include factions which whill bring a TON of stuff to do.

While not complete and with future stuff to do, the existing game is still good and I've spent over 100 hours with it. When new stuff is added, you still get access to it.

I don't know, but I do know that a year and a half ago, when I first got it, it was pretty small in active playing areas and level. 1 year later, the game grow a ton and I finally started playing it.

Yeah I have 2 max level characters and most of the gear. This was only playing 2-3 weeks though so the content doesn't stand up to other games yet. (Though I'm generally done with new D3 seasons in a week)

Is that a Steam based website? The HumbleBundle one? How would I use that sale price on Steam?

EDIT: Nm, I figured it out. For $15 it is well worth a shot.

I can't belive one has mentioned Divine Divinity or Divinity 2 yet. Also The Borderlands series is very Diablo-esqe if you don't mind the FPS element.
Hammerwatch is also a complete blast. Albeit it leans more towards Gauntlet then Diablo.

An older one that came out just before D2 was Nox. It was fun and hilarious at times given that Bruce Campbell voiced it. Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 and the Titan Quests were also great.

I know everyone hates it but I really liked sacred 2. You could dump 400 hours on it.
I spent many, many hours in Sacred 2, probably my favorite of the genre. I got Sacred 3 but played maybe an hour. Sacred 3 seemed to me to be a beta released because they ran out of money.

OP-I know you excluded POE but I should point out they just substantially revised it. Now 10 acts (six new) and the rat-maze run (the labyrinth) has been edited down in length drastically. The first four acts are the same as before. From what I've seen of Acts 5 & 6 the changes are nice.

sacred 3 is not the same developers. They went bankrupt unfortunately. They are working "slowly" on a spiritual successor...

it has funding and they are moving forward but the team is smaller. Expect more of the same though. No respecing massive head hurting ways to kill your toon by building it wrong 😉

actually looks like unbended is dead 🙁

The OP made this thread over two years ago. I'm sure they've moved on by now.

That being said, Grim Dawn's expansion should be coming out soon. Crate said they were shooting for a Q2/Q3 release date and we are nearing Q4, so it should be nearing completion. Crate try to meet their announced deadlines, but they always find a way to push the deadline a bit, but in return we get flawless content with very few bugs. New chapter, two new masteries (which almost doubles the current combinations available), higher level cap, more devotion points, hundreds (if not more) of new pieces of gear, and a new Illusion system.

No one mentioned FATE. It's a predecessor for Torchlight, and it's pretty good too. It has a DLC as well called Undiscovered Realms.

Also, there's Van Helsing 1 and 2, and there's the good ol' Darkstone which despite the dated gfx still kicks ass!

Don't play Dungeon Siege 3. Play DS 1 and 2

Don't play Sacred 2 and 3. They're shit. Play Sacred 1.

Oh, and don't forget Victor Vran!

I preferred Sacred 1 and the addons, but Sacred 2 is not horrible. Sacred 3 on the other hand is not even made by the same company. That said, the graphical state of the original is getting pretty bad, and Sacred 2 would certainly hold up to todays standards better.
