The Jewish religion is normally considered heriditary, but there are converts from other religions. I'm sure there *are* some asian jews, but I've never met one or heard of one.

The ethnicity? HUH?!?!Being Jewish is being part of a religion, not part of a region of the world. I'm not half Catholic because my dad is Catholic and my mom is not.

Jewish is the ethnicity. The Jews are decendents from the ancient Jewish people. Judaism is the religion. You can be Jewish, and not follow Judaism.... it's rare, but certainly can happen.

So what is a person called who follows Judaism and isn't a decendent of the ancient Jews? I just find it confusing.
