Yeah, it is a tad sluggish but I was just looking for a replacement to my tf101 that is literally falling apart and I didn't need a powerhouse. It serves me well and I am hoping JB will pep it up.

Don't count on it. Samsung will be loading JellyBean up with a lot of TouchWiz bloat. :(
Your best bet is to install Nova or Apex or Go HD. TouchWiz performance is a disaster.

Is it just the launcher or the whole device itself? I didn't even check to see if I could try another launcher on the thing.

Might have to order the student pack from Amazon before it disappears entirely then. Not sure why I didn't consider the launcher as the sticking point as I've always swapped launchers.

TW skins pretty much the whole device. Replacing the launcher makes the home screens and UI much smoother, but the TW color schemes, apps, settings, and menus are all still there. Even though the ICS upgrade on my Gtab 8.9 was pretty solid and improved the device, TW is still a dog on it. Switching to Nova or Apex was the only thing that made it tolerable. Used Go Launcher HD before the ICS update.
