I'm about to go to Tower and pick up their new album after recently d/ling it (Hehe, Take that RIAA!). It sounds pretty mellow like Transistor, which is ok with me

I'm waiting for them to come back to the Greek Theatre

311's sound is rather annoying IMHO, and when coupled with their completely fake and rather preppy image, it makes for poor music...but that's just my 2¢.

Man, a lot of 311 haters out there! Obviously you've heard the new album. I like it, but not nearly as much as their older stuff. It's much better than Soundsystem though, which was kind of lame if you ask me.

i don't know, some of their lyrics are just kinda, well....off. i remember them singing about weird gibberish like &quot;the motherstar&quot; and all this other made up stuff. besides that, i do like their sound. it's fresh.

I loved the first 2 albums, and kinda liked their third, but since then all of their songs have sounded the same. At the time the first 2 albums came out, there was really nothing out there like them, except Phunk Junkeez and Shootyz Groove. Now all the crap on the radio has the rap-rock thing going on.

I'll tell you one thing, I've seen them live 3 or 4 times, and they always put on a great show, and sound amazing.

since music came out. seen them live a bunch of times, always great stuff. (two shows stand out, once in a small venue (the roxy in atlanta) after music came out, and third row at lakewood amphitheater (atlanta again) on the blue album tour) i didn't really care for soundsystem tho, hoping the new cd is much better. i like the new song.

Wow, I though 311 was getting rather popular! I got into them with Grassroots and I have followed them ever since. I loved the drum solo during their concert , The Blue Album is my favorite.

I'd like 311, except that I find that all their songs sound pretty much the same. I think it's the singer that does it... he's pretty much monotone, his pitch changes, but his tone stays the same. Does anyone else notice this? I used to like them until I listened to more and more of their songs.
