I was talking to a guy today and the conversation was getting pretty deep. In the course of our convo he mentions "there are no absolute thruths". I asked him if he was sure. He said he is positive. I was like , how can someone be absloutely sure that there are no absolute thruths?

Sorry, I'm tired.

There's no absolute truth because people are always out to proof the previous absolute truth wrong, thus creating a new absolute truth, which will get replaced by another abosolute truth in the future, and so on.

There are no absolute truths because everything is relative! dur.

Now if we lived in a homocentric universe where everything revolved around the Earth, maybe :p

at the very moment you make the claim there are no absolute truths, you are declaring an absolute truth, which is self defeating.

I think therefore I am.

Even our own existance is subjective.

The only absolute truth is that we are all here, and even that can be argued:D.

By saying that there is no such thing as an "absolute truth" is an "absolute truth" in itself; thus the original assumption, that there is no "absoulte truth" is false, ie, there is such a thing as an absolute truth.

You validate your own existence by attempting to deny it. It is undeniably true that I exist, because if I attempt to deny it, I verify it by my attempt. Just like the statemtent that there are absolutely no absolute truths is actually unaffirmable.
