yeah Malone, but look at their team in general, and now look at who they're going after during the offseason.

yeah, but look at the vast majority of their roster.
They have all this cap space and they go after the non-black players....seems kinda strange.

I'm sure they have a big chart in the board room with all of the prospective players who are strong inside shooters with their stats, last season's numbers and race and then reduce the potential salary offer if the player has a check mark in the wrong column

I agree. I mean I wouldn't go as far as calling them racist but they definitely have more white players than the usual team. But I would say its more of giving the audience what they want, Mormons are mostly white and there are lots of them in Utah. Not to say Mormons are racist.

What is your definition of racism, and how does it apply to the current situation?

Let's see... on their NBA Finals teams, they had Karl Malone, Bryon Russell, Shandon Anderson, Jacque Vaughn, Chris Morris, Quincy Lewis, John Amaechi, among others... and Jeff Malone and John Starks were the starting shooting guards before and after Hornacek. I don't buy it at all.

If there is any reason why the Utah Jazz have more white players than other NBA teams, it's because black free agents are far less likely to want to move to Utah. Salt Lake City isn't exactly a hub of hip-hop culture. I'm sure the Jazz management realize this, and thus go after European players whenever possible.

Now, if anyone wants to have a discussion as to why white players are always "well-schooled in the fundamentals" while black players are "natural athletes," we might be onto something.

The whities have to be "well-schooled" because as we all know, they can't jump

By the way, to say that Mormons are racist is completely ignorant. First of all, it is unfair to place an entire group of people under such a wide-ranging umbrella. Secondly, due to Mormon missionary work, the fastest growing areas for the LDS religion are in the Phillipines and Africa. Lastly, I personally know a couple of white Mormon girls who are dating African-Americans. Their families seem to have no problem with it, unlike other religious groups I've witnessed.

Roster
Carlos Arroyo - Puerto Rican
Raja Bell - black
Curtis Borchardt - white
Jarron Collins - black
Gordan Giricek - croatian
Matt Harpring - white
Kris Humphries - white
Andrei Kirilenko - Russian
Raul Lopez - white
Kirk Snyder - ?
Maurice Williams - black

3-4 black out of an entire roster? They go after 2 more white guys in the offseason.......maybe they're
not racist. Perhaps they are just picking people who will be more comfortable living at Utah.

Don't the state of Utah has the lowest percentage of blak people in general? There is a Mormon church close to where I live I've noticed over the years their congregation is almost 99% white.

Black guys are trippin and want too much money. Dampier turned down $8 mil from the Warriors, anyone wanna guess how much he's asking for? At least Okur is young.
