Are the Seattle Mariners the best MLB team ever?

Only if Ichiro can pitch...

I really don't like the Mariners - Safeco field is nice though - the fans however are VERY jump on the bandwagon type - almost as bad as the Yankee fans.

If they were losing, you definitely wouldn't see them in the seats.

Whereas on a few teams, they keep them packed in night after night (Red Sox, Cubs, to name a few).

No team can play 800 ball for the entire season. Also, with the new unbalanced schedule, the Mariners get to beat up on the Rangers, Angels, and A's (who are slumping badly for some strange reason).

Don't remind me. 🙁 I have been an A's fan for as long as I can remember... the late 90's were not good ones for the team, then finally they made the playoffs last year playing some great ball.
Everyone liked them this year in the AL West, but Johnny Damon has played terribly and the pitching has been up and down. Giambi is putting up monster numbers once again, but no other regular is hitting near .300. They have lost a ton of one-run games, too.

At this point, the A's are a longshot for the wild card, and unless the A's move out of Oakland sometime soon, they won't be able to keep players around long-term. 🙁

As for the Mariners, they are playing extremely well. But as others have pointed out, the "best team ever" label is extremely premature. However, if they end the season at 130-32 or some such insane number near an .800 winning percentage, it will have to be considered the greatest SEASON ever, especially if they win the Series.

LOL, the Mariners aren't even close to the best team ever. That's like asking if the '84 Tigers are the best team ever. They started out 35-5. That's the best start ever in baseball thru 40 games. If they can do this for 5-10 years then you can start wondering.

Wow, I need to get a new battery for my PC. It still thinks it's JUNE, but the way you're talking, I know it's October.:disgust:
